Hi folks,
Any of you peeps wear a KBC lid specifically the VR1 type model?
Can you give me info on the good and bad (if any).
Looking at replacing my Rapier.
Thanks in advance.

yeah. I've had a KBC Galaxy for about a year and a half now and I've been pretty impressed with it. Good loking helemt at a good price if nothing else. My vents have come a bit loose now but it does get a LOT of use (no car!).
very comfy although could use more air through it. cheap for what it is I think
I'm told by Death'n'taxes that helmets are dirt cheap in Aussie tho ($700 for an AXO!!) so if your in the market for a new lid, scope out buying it from there or ask any anyone living over there to send ya one!
I was recently in the market for a new helmet, bought an Arai. However, before this I came across KBC, and having never heard of them before, asked the salesman at Eric Woods what he knew about them. His replies:
'Uh, they're popular'
'We've sold lots'
'We get them in all the time'
Nothing about weight, construction, colour options, sizes, wind noise, visor operation, benefits or anything. If you know nothing about your product, admit it, get someone who does, and learn about it. Nice enough guy, but couldn't sell me a helmet.
Thanks onearmbandit for the info.
And thanks ColdKiwi. Yeah, have got the sis over in Aussie so will be yakking with her about availability and price, etc.
Cheers

i'm pretty sure thats what I got, the chrome one?, not terribly quiet, more wind noise if you turn your head to the left ?. Ventilates well enough. comfy once i removed the ear pads, (big ears) and visors easy to change.
Heres a handy hint, don't use the same rag you rain-x'd your car windows with to dry your helmet, the chrome comes off and it's pink underneath![]()
fzerozerot,
Thanks for the info.
