For JR and any others interested, here are a couple of pics of my clutch set-up. Still to convert the indicators over etc, but she's ride-able for me now! The clutch lever is reveresed and operated by my thumb. I cut the lever down, and smoothed of the edges, so that my throttle action wasn't interfered with. After doing everything for the last 6yrs with one hand, throttle, clutch, and brakes with one hand is second nature.

That's interesting - I'd like to see you in action.I presume the clutch is only used for taking off,then you just flick through.Must be a light clutch.I was looking at a Harley a while ago with a rider who had a hook on the left hand,clutch and brake on one bar but opperated normal,with a remote mastercyl on the front downtube.If you want to ride,you ride...nice one.

Thanks for the comments guys. Yeah, my arm and upper body has compensated due to the accident, I don't work out, regular smoker, but could do 40 onearm press ups right now. (I must admit, I'm in reasonable shape for someone who leads my lifestyle, I'm right on the weight/height index).

Motu, the clutch action is normal, but I find it quite light. Stand facing your bike at the front, and operate the clutch with your thumb. See what you think. As to using the clutch, I use it a fair amount actually, especially around town traffic. The action to me is 2nd nature, the setup is so easy it could be factory. I don't even have to think about it now.

I reckon if you want to know the true feeling of satisfaction and achievement, have something you love and value ripped away from you, told you'll never do it again, then fight and claw your way back to getting it. Its an amazing high.

That's impressive. It looks to me like it would be pretty complicated to use, I think it's hard enough getting used to working the throttle and brake together, let alone having the clutch lever on that hand too.

I am impressed. For somebody who struggles to chew gum and walk at the same time, riding with your setup would be way too much for me. Do you do pressups on your right thumb??

Yeah, just after I picked her up I was out in the country, straight road with no traffic cruising at about 130-140km/h. A HP was hidden by a tree, so I didn't see him until it was too late. Intially all he did was flash his lights, but when he saw I was riding onearmed decided to pull me over.

First question was regarding my licence, next he informed me I was travelling at 137km/h, then came 'where is your arm, do you still even have it!!??' He told me he had a Suzuki 650 at home, and that was enough of a challenge for him with both arms. He complimented me numerous times about the size of my 'boys', shook his head lots, and finished off by saying that I had enough on my plate without a ticket, and walked away.

It all comes down to attitude.
