Stupidity kills people.
I went to school with Maoris, worked with Maoris, have good friends who are Maoris. We only hear about the shit bags and bludgers. Remember there is a majority of good hard working Maori out there, we just dont hear about them.
Most of our problem Maori are products of urban drift. About forty years ago young Maoris migrated to the city they had kids but had no idea how to raise them as in Maori comunities the grandmother looked after the youngsters and instilled the values they required in life.
These new city kids are the main trouble makers. There have been schemes to bring surrogate grandmothers into the citys but it is too late for this present generation.

O.K, we cut some slack for the 'tinted chappies' ( anybody with1/16 or so Maori) in NZ and they think they have done well.
NOW put them in competition with the rest of the world and how do they look?
Like ferkin 3rd world losers.
And so they screech 'not fair'?
Like the rest of the world will care?
Leave NZ to the radical Maori - and pick up the pieces in 10 years or so.
I feel sorry to the practical hard working genuine Maori that has to carry the burden of the non-working radical.

Well said. We do forget about all the maori families who do fine, work hard and love their kids.Originally Posted by DougB

Taxpayer help needs to be on a quid pro quo basis - you get a benefit payment and do some community work/something useful - in return. At the moment it is something for nothing.
cant remember what state its in but somewere in the US does the benefit thing well....you dont get money you get food stamps..best thing is they can only be redeemed for real food..no smokes etc not even fizzy drink good idea i reckon....oh and when you sign on you surrender your drivers licence as if you need the dole then you obviously cant afford insurance for your car which you must have over thereOriginally Posted by Winston001

South Dakota has that system, seems to work, didn't hear too much criticism of it when there.Originally Posted by 98tls
