Bah, I just tried to use their feedback form but im getting Page Cannot Be Displayed when I try to submit it. grrrr

On the other side of things, I had my first time in real traffic yesterday (am a learner) and signalled and we around the outside of the stopped cars and had no problems getting back into the traffic at the roundabouts.

Well here's a question - slightly but relating to riding in the CBD & crazy cagers.

    Give ways rules...
No.1 - At an uncontrolled 'T' intersection. I am turning right out of the street and another car is turning left into the street. My understanding has always been that they traffic turning right into the street gives way to me. Is that correct - b/c yesterday they sure as hell didn't.

No.2 - I am going straight ahead and the cage driver is turning right, he is on my left, we are both at compulsary stop signs. I thought I had to give way to him. He kindly waved me on.
My goal in life is to be as good a person as my dog already thinks I am.

You are correct on both counts.

    1. Didn't see you. They may have looked at you but their threat response didn't activate so for all practical purposes you didn't exist.

    2. Is an idiot who had no idea.

No. 1 - about 3 cars did this to me in a row. Its the intersection at the top of Cuba St that goes onto Webb St - am I right that it's uncontolled? I couldn't see any lines on the road or any signs. And I decided that I'd come off worse for wear if I tried to go.

No. 2 - That's the Cuba and Able Smith Streets(?), ya know just down from your work.

    Thanks for that Jum.

And yeah, the uncontrolled intersection thing, you have right of way, but you always have to watch out because people are just used to turning off the more "main" road.

But I thought if I was going straight ahead & he was turning I give way to him? We were both on STOP signs.

    Ok, imagine this situation.
+ intersection, everyone on stop signs.
If you're on the bottom, going straight ahead, and theres someone on your left wanting to turn right, they give way.
Reason: Standard give way rules apply. Always give way to your right.

ok, Same intersection. You're coming from the bottom, going straight again. He's coming from the top wanting to turn right across your path. He gives way again. He would give way to anything coming straight through (technically its on his right.)

    1. You're right. It's like the Petone off ramp onto the Hutt road from the Korokoro lights. They always assume you are on a give way.

    2. It is an arse that intersection. I always get people on my right waving me through, and looking at me like I am a spas when I refuse to go.

That second one I mentioned about someone coming towards you wanting to turn right catches me out occasionally
Theres a particular + intersection up here that throws me off nearly every time.

Here's my reply from the dick head at gateway home...

"You should learn to indicate when lane changing, also aggressive
gestures don't help the situation resulting in kicking and damaging
Company property is not good behaviour. I ride motorbikes also and have
done so for many years and ride responsibly and not like this you
monkey. If you wish to take this further, I would be more than happy to
    take this to the police."

Yeah that's the one, I think I'll just try and avoid that particular intersection where possible. It's a bit of a mightmare anyway! Thanks!
