    Phew the biker was alright!

From what I have seen of pedestrians they often step infront of vehicles without looking ! Nearly seen a few people die on symonds street and have picked a few up off the road who have been hit less seriously!

Wondered what this fuss was last night when we saw it. Said to Skunk Control it'd be a fatal.

Bugger, I was right. But I am suprised at how few we have considering the way pedestrians use the roads as an extension of the footpath.

What's the area like? Likely a case of the ped just stepping out?

Every road in Wellington city is an extension of the footpath, or at least, it is treated as such by j-walkers. (that includes me)

    What to say then?????

Not cool someone died, but every once in a while a fuckup will get you killed....

Same for bikes, cages, and peds.

Can do something a hundred times, no prob, 101-----splat!!!

At least the rider is ok.

He he, reminds of the time i 'bounced' off a rather large woman (you'd have to be to stand up to an RF on the move!) who ran out in front of me in London.

Just managed to glance off her, we both stayed upright tho'. She got a hell of a fright!

From what i know about vivian street. There can be some distractions around that area... especially at night time (red light district?)? or am i imagining that?

I have a mate who came off his bike when a ped stepped out in front of him... he wasnt wearing his gear so got a fair bit of road stuck in his knees and elbows.

Just goes to show that no matter what types of distractions are around you simply must pay attention to what your doing no matter whether your riding, walking or driving... especially in traffic.
