As far as the Hyosung vs 250/4 goes... one is old and slow no matter how you look at it, possibly screwed to within an inch of its life, but fashionable... the other is new and slower still, with the worst panel fit / general finish I've seen on anything new in a long time. Might as well ride a second hand GN250 till you can buy something that's not either over priced, or shoddily built.
    Slow wtf...

Man what have you been smoking. I'm yet to see another >250 4 stroke go past me in a line or a corner apart from texmo one time.

The IL4 250's of 'yesteryear' are still the fastest and best handling 4 stroke 250's ever made, end of story. And yes I will prove it if you have a bike you think is better. Game? I've ridden almost all the common 4 strokes and none are as quick.

And as texmo said I have seen them do over 100,000kms a few times... at least 3 I know of that are no slower or stuffed than ones at 20k, so go figure, they aint' as shit as you try to make out. Funnily enough it's two ZXRs and one CBR. Guess most of the CBRs get written off huh

Slow compared to 250 2 strokes.. not really that much but they have a bit less accel and top speed. Last 2 stroke 250 stopped production in 04, RS250. Nice bike.

And shoddily built? The old ones sure as hell ain't. Built much better than all the new bikes that seem to be made out of tinfoil and cardboard honeycomb...... drop it and it's a write off type shit.

Money on tristan, I have seen you race and I have seen him 'walk' away from me on some roads where I couldnt go any faster. In saying that though the road is a diffrent story all together I am not that fast on the track but im semi-decient on the road.

60mm between mount holes and in triangular fashion is what I'm looking for.

Are they very loud or easily made louder if they are very quiet? I don't want a silent bike I need something pretty free flowing cus that's what it's tuned for..

edit: just saw spring clips... argh
Only have this one muffler available for now so oval is all I can offer ya comes with mounting bracket as well to attatch to frame which you can move up and down the muffler any where you'd like

We'll have to fix that then eh

I agree with you Tris, the little 2fiddy/4's are awesome on the road. It's a real shame that they stopped devloping them 15 years ago, 'cos I'd love to see how far they could have taken the concept.

Still, the ones still around have stood the test of time pretty well, despite the numerous hidings and droppings they've been met with.

I reckon Honda or Kawasaki should build the old design 250s (and the 400s) in Mexico for cheap like VW does the old Beatles.

EDIT: Very nice exhaust btw, and a bargain at that price. I'd have bought one for my 250 back in the day.

A 150 2-stroke has as much acceleration as the ZXR and less weight. Those are serious bikes

Uhh.. not the ones I seen and ridden, remember mr rg100 moaning about how the zxr's were dicking them on the straights and complaining?

edit: modded should be similar but then go stick a turbo on a zxr250.. hahahahaah\

edit: where the fuck is kapiti.. cheese and stuff eh?

I was waiting for a bite

Port and pipe vs complete engine overhall and tuning for the turbo + weight.

    1 cylinder 1 carb and 2 valves dicks 4, 4, and 24 BURRN

Maybe you should learn a bit more more before you go off like a trumpet.

Yeah damn right they are. And so they bloody should with a extra 100cc.

My 'race' bike is a RG150 with 50,000kms on its original piston. A stuffed powervalve servo. and harden pirlli MT75 tyres. Which are complete crap in the wet and dry compared to the dunlop TT900 and Dunlop GP70rs or what ever the code is.

My KRR on the other hand makes about twice the power of my 'race' RG. Only lets down on top speed.compared to the 250s But only by a little.

Thats why i want to race it.

I was referring to the context of YOU vs. TRISTAN not BIKE vs. BIKE ... Trumpet boy.
