Shame about the wear on shoe leather, but I ride 16 a lot and haven't had a problem with the IRD.
    Lucky? Or effective counter-measures?
Some of the locals even put signs out warning of tax collection points.

Hey Leong, that really sucks. I think I might have passed you guys standing on the shoulder of the north bound lane around 4:30ish just north of KKK, I was travelling south bound on my blue/black VL1500 cruiser. At least on the cruiser keeping it under 110km/h is not tooo much of a challenge, especially on the twisties ...... Did anyone else notice that although it was the last day of the school hols yesterday there was surprisingly little traffic on SH16.
Never mistake horsepower for staying power, gray-haired riders don't get that way from pure luck

yeah its a shame that, next time just beat your wife or your kids, hell rob a supermarket or punch someone in the street, you likely to get off much lighter than a month not being able to drive and $510 plus 50 demerits!

It amuses me that speeding has such harsh penalties compared to some other crimes in NZ.

    Mr Leong!

Seems you and I have things in common. I used to own a 1998 VTR250 and now own a K6 'zook as well.

At the end of the day if your going to go fast your going to get caught. This is why i don't ride SH16 i ride Clevdon - Miranda because most of the road is so twisty & tight that most never exceed 110km/hr any way, untill you get to the miranda end that is ....... lol but thats when the counter measures come in.

Thing is normal sensible 100km all day sorts of riders are getting their licenses removed for passing in a safe manner, its utter rubbish the cops spouting on about danger at a quick burst over a 100 to pass a car, have the heard of Time Exposed to Danger (TED) ??? When passing without passing lanes it is best to reduce TED as this is what is likely to actually kill causing a head on if someone passses lethargically, but no cops ping ya and destroy your life for passing in a safe and sensible manner. Could they use descretition? yes.....do they?? no , as they have their precious little qouta.

It's an old Master Blaster, it's not supposed to work on Stalkers, but it does.
The Blinder M20 is the one to get.

I thought a majority of cops still used RADAR guns rather than the laser ones?

Just like income tax, speed tax affects those in the middle the most. The poor/slow don't pay bugger all tax, in fact many poor get kickbacks on it! The rich/fast pay bugger all tax. The rich have structures in place to avoid/minimise their tax liability. While the fast just bugger off.

And what's left in the middle is the good kiwi bloke/blokess. They work hard, they pay their bills on time, they pay their taxes fair and square, and they stop for cops when they're busted doing nothing. They get the $510 fines, the 50 demerit points, the points adding up to a 3 month suspension, the insurance hassles...

Leong, don't forget to advise your insurance company for both cars and bike. You might not want to hear what they have to say, but you have a legal obligation to advise them. You don't want someone to knick the bike out of your garage next week and then have to explain your irresponsible hooliganish driving history.
