Correct. To jam Ka band, you'd need to tow a truck load of electronics. You can only practically jam lasers.

Oh, the reason that I don't have one is that Mrs B won't let me. She says my detector is ok but active lawbreaking is not. I'm not going to debate the point as no sex for the next year is a likely result. I'll take my chances with getting caught, thank you.

If you transmit on the same frequency as someone else, particularly someone who has paid their licence fee, then you're committing an offence.
See thats the answer I was after, I thought it was something like that but gr81's statement that they are illegal needed some evidence/reason

You will need a license to transmit on the police bands

I wouldn't be surprised though if some plonker at the govt department actually issued you with one.

EDIT: somebody beat me to it.

Now the interesting matter is, if you have this on constantly, and the police have this on intermittently, THEY will be committing an offence if they aim at your vehicle and turn it on.

Sorry to be a kill joy, but why not save the speeding for the track, and if you don't and get caught, see the fine for what it is, a fun tax!

Naa. Ive got a mate in frquencies, and they go through a lot to make sure no one upsets anyone else.

I have seen mention of an active radar jammer on an american website, but they mentioned it seems to be out of production.

Just mix carbon and flat black paint and use this to repaint your bike. Let us know how it goes

The Blinder is an active LASER jammer, the other crap like the Rocky Mountain is not and doesn't work. They connect through a high end detector as the detection device which activates the jammer.

Or you could string metal beads on a half-wavelength of nylon and tassel up your bike and hope the reflection from them causes noise problems...
    *snicker*

Carbon and flat black might transmit radar rather than reflecting it, but the engine block and frame will still reflect radar. I guess you could clad everything in RAM but .. really why bother :-P

I was wondering if shagpile carpet would work??

I spent a few hours last night looking at RAM. Carbon is the go, by the looks of it

That might be the cause of the seat in this thread!!! GENIUS

I was under the impression that carbon had a high transmission of radar waves, I probably have been missinformed though.
