    Rubbish

If you're concentrating on the guy in front of you instead of your own riding/driving then you need a few more lessons

Can you just point out where I said anything about concentrating on my speedo?

I don't what it is with some cagers, trying to kill bikers and all. Cause the other day i was following one and he pulled over to the left while indicating left opposite this turn off, with me thinking that if I was on a faster bike i wouldve been able to pass the guy as he had been going 90 the whole way. then he decides to turn right, while hes still indicating left! lucky for me i had slowed down behind him, just incase he was, i dunno, blind!

You never know who the other guy is - a drunk, high on P, extremely angry cos he was fired, ripped off, found his wife cheating on him, clinically insane, a guy who's good at fighting and likes picking fights, etc......
And if your not in any hurry, let him be a couple of hundred metres in front of you.

Did he get your plate tag? Does he only drive that vehicle? Does he live in the area? What's the chances of being in the same area at the same time next time? You don't know. He's got the problem not you.

Report it this time if you want to.

Next time what would you do differently?

*555's all shit, My wife and I were coming back from St Lukes last Thursday night after a movie heading home on the N'Western to Whenuapai and a $wd was varying it's speed between 80 and 130, using alot of road to keep pointing in the right direction, we called *555 and started talking to them, during the conversation the driving got worse scraping the centre barrier then over to the bus lane/shouder and turning so hard we didn't get to close 'cos I thought it would flip. They nearly hita few people and we followed them to Taikata Road, Te Atatu peninsular and noted down the drive they went into. This had taken 20 minutes and the car was pretty distinctive two tone, plate given to the call centre too and #13, Sam Reihana in yellow on the rear window. I was driving and my wife was talking on the mobile, we waited in the shops nearby to direct the cops who we thought would have been interested to the correct house. Call the *555 operator back and get told no-one can respond, I thought they might actually be telling the truth cos if I was a cop and I could knock on someones door, have them answer drunk and feel their car was still hot there is a good chance of getting someone actually dangerous (probably not locked up) but let them know it's not on. Getting back on the Motorway there is a highway car 200m north of the Te Atau offramp!! I called *555 back and told them there was a car there and was it responding? They said highway cars don't respond to that type of call!! If he'd gone by them doing the same I bloody hope that he'd get pulled over so whats the difference if I call it in? Next time I get stopped for splitting I'm going to head off the motor way and see if they carry on following. I know there are highway cars and I cars and cdi and all the rest for a reason but when theres a sworn officer 2 minutes from a dangerous situation and they don't respond I find it real hard to not vent my frustration when the cash grabbers try to do me for 120 on a clear sunny day and I'm stone cold sober.

Its freakin' frustrating. I can't have been the only person to have complaind the way the 4wd was everywhere! Makes me want to just gap it when I see the red and blue lights. I normally stop and be polite and take my medicine, I've been making it way too easy! Thats the problem, they should have to work for their money like eveyone else. If there were two police forces and they had to compete to offer good service and results. It woudl be messed up for sure but things aren't far off that now.

Last time I reported a seriously drunk driver, it took ages to get through on *555. When I pointed out how long I had been waiting I was told by the operator that in these cases I should ring 111 as they would class that kind of driving as an emergency........go figure

*555 is to dob people in, ie if some ruffian cut you off and you want to get satsifaction by telling on him. It isn't an emergency police line.

If people's lives are in danger phone 111.

    From the police website:

*555 should be used to report general traffic incidents via mobile phone. It is not an emergency number. In the event of a serious, time critical traffic emergency, dial 111.
