Windex or similar

Gday all,
Got caught out in the rain for the first time riding back from uni today, and while it wasnt too much of an issue, there was quite a water droplets on my visor. Was wondering if there is any product that I could apply to the visor similar to windex for cars that wouldnt compromise the antifog in any manner.

While im at it, I'd strongly recommend the uvex wing rsII to anyone, they weren't kidding when they wrote super anti-fog on the box, it hasnt fogged in the field of vision yet, even riding in the cold mornings (for akl standards anyway ) we've had the last week (including fog).

I use Rainex on the outside of the visor and Fog Off on the inside. I'm told that Pledge (furniture polish) works well too.

Be careful what you use on visors.
Visors are made of polycarbonate (Lexan,among others ) because of it's shatterproof properties.
Many products will weaken PC and allow it to shatter.
We don't want shards in our eyeballs now ,do we?

Rainex is acidified isopropyl alcohol,siloxanes and ethyl alcohol

The bottle says: do not spill or splatter on painted surfaces or use on plastics unless preapproved by the plastic manufacturer
I do know that General Electric does not approve Rainex for use on Lexan

As a last resort, read the directions,eh?
I wouldn't let it within 10 feet of a polycarbonate visor,It won't necessarily affect the clarity,but it will weaken the material

Like Blackbird said, you want Nik Wax Visorproof you do.

Works brilliantly, and I've reapplied it twice in a month so it should last for a while, as this last month has been horrendous in Wellington.

Or you can go cheap like me and use pledge. Works very nicely to keep the rain beading and heading off the visor.

It doesn't do anit fogging though.

Pledge is OK so long as you don't use the stuff in an aerosol. Aerosol propellant will affect the anti-shatter properties of Lexan.

And they work bloody well had a rock the size of my fist thown at me helmet by dazza on the sheep ride and even though it was fair moving and put a lot of shock on the visor all it left were a few healthy gouge marks in it!

Whoops, I meant rainex rather than windex, shows what early wakeups do to you! Cheers for the replies, will go and get myself some nikwax visorproof asap. Surprising that the visor held up to a rock that size, reassuring to know!
