You won’t which is the realistic hard truth. Not many people wreck MX bikes & generally only when the engines are beyond economic repair.
So your difficult choice is
repair engine
Buy ratty KX (maybe a kdx) with ok engine (good luck)
or start saving for another bike.
Sorry if I sound like a prick, but a 15yr old mx bike just isn’t like a Corolla. Fortunately most engine damage can be repaired. If you do most of it yourself it might be worth it. Maybe.

Would a kx250 engine fit in it and if so how much modification to the mounts

That’s ‘you’re’, not ‘your’, I dunno the yoof of today. . . but as to the 250, I doubt it, & you’d have as much problems finding a 250 & then the carb pipe & ignition would be wrong.

yea i dont know if i will need it because im thinking of buying a kx250 engine to put in it but if i dont i will pm you
