i completely agree.. especially when looking at the Bible, God killed a bunch of gays (Sodom and Gomorah), the NZ government is taunting God, and they will pay for it..

haha my bike redlines at 14k.. i could say "but I only rev up to 5k, never any higher than that" therefore 'half the used rev range' would be 2500?

Personally I think all governments are shit, democracy is not democracy in the true sense, we have no free will and can't do shit without some crap law or other bullshit stopping us. Sure we need laws but not half of the bullshit thats out there.
Everything of major consequence should be voted on by the people, not some homo mp who votes cause it keeps him in power, or it helps to further line his pockets.
As for the socialist wankers in parliament taking their big fat paychecks and doing nothing but arguing all day in the house, while preaching that we all should help the poor and needy while they have Latte's and big fuckoff parties at their swanky million+ houses, they can kiss my ass.
There, thats that out of the way.

It'll be interesting to hear stories on KB about who passes/fails this new noise test!

HAHAHA BRILLIANT!! 4000rpm if the engine is a 4-stroke twin-cylinder engine with more than 3 valves per cyinder my bike literally IDLES at 3500RPM, and I doubt will even move forward at a steady pace in any gear at 4000rpm hehehehe

I'm pretty sure my stock pipe will pass - there's been a lot of noise limit discussions on the XT225 forum and the consensus is the bike passes with some slightly noisier aftermarket cans.

I fear the boi racers are just going to do what they can to get around it anyway - like swapping the exhaust before any tests and checks and going back to the noisy one immediately afterwards.

No law that says your bike has to be able to do whatever rpm. shut down the limiters on the throttle and make your high speed machine into a meek kitten, or close up the airbox, or unplug a couple of sparkplugs, or put a little kink in your fuel line, or bash in your pipes with a hammer!

    Or have a legal pipe.

1.1(2)(c) says that original, unmodified exhausts are exempt.

When do these new tax laws come into effect?

Soon as you buy a new bike - it doesn't cover 1985 models.Unless you rev the shit out of it in front of the cops, then they'll drag you off to the noise testerator.

I dont have baffles, and its very loud... joys of having a classic bike. (also having a differnt bike to a gsxr is a big bonus!)

Also, define new - is that anything from so and so year, or is it anything bought from 2006 (i.e buy a 95 bike later on this year etc) or is it anything bought from a dealer....
