Condolances to the family, and R.I.P rider!

Given the wheelie thing, has anyone heard from Patch, he lives out that way?

I hope not, but having said that, I would hope it wasn't anyone. Take care peeps, want to ride with you all one day!

Not me but I know a few others in the area as well.... hell I travel that way every day to tech....

oh man now that just sux, RIP Steve your in a better place now *biker heaven*, now thats just too close to home I ride through bontany all the time when I head out towards my mums heading towards manukau, anyways ride safe everyone and take care, the roads can be unforgiving wheather they be windy or straight,

That Botany / Mill house intersection is a piece of work.

Yes, its one of the worst intersections for crashes around the area (and another one I frequent) so it wouldn't surprise me if someone crashing a red light was the actual cause. I wasn't working so don't know anything about the crash unfortunately.

The whole area is fricken piss poor with cages running reds, sometimes lights that have been red for quite some time. It just doesn't pay to be quick off the lights anymore, and if you are going to, please check both ways first!!! Enough poor buggers killed on bikes, so sad to see.

i hate to break the news but my workmate's mothers saw the crash and apparently she saw Steve ran through the red light

I knew him and I'm not suprised. Youth+mean bike+no fear=Just a matter of time. Nobody that knew him is blaming anyone else. I also feel for the person/people in the car that he hit as it would be a life changing incident
