    If you want to race streetstock, then get the KR, if you want to learn to ride, and plan on doing some km's, then get the FXR... too easy to look after.

    Nah, mines sweet. Usually starts first kick if not then definately the second one... As long as I let it warm up for a couple of minutes before taking of it runs sweet. Except for being blown over I have had no issues whatsoever with my KR and it definately crashes well. Runs sweet on partially or fully synthetic oil doesnt eat it *too* fast and it runs better on 91 than any other petrol. Besides 2 strokes rock!!

    Yeah two strokes definitly rock. I just dont like them as a commuter unless its a tourqe engine like a rv150 or something.

    Fair enough. I love commuting on mine, but I did have a GN before this so its not really any competition...

    Agreed. Mine starts first/second time without fail. Im getting 30km/L on it (is that normal?) commuting and occasional highway. The lack of power down low, especially when cold, is a bit of a pain in the ass but its not too bad and the bike more than makes up for it at higher revs

    I used to have a FXR and it was a really good bike, I forgot to oil the chain regularly, forgot to check the oil regularly, forgot to put the cover on at nights and still never had any problems in the three odd years that I owned it.
    Being a 4 stroke there was no nasty powerband to surprise a new rider, and it was still agile and light enough to blow off all the cages at the lights, top speed I recorded on mine was 140 going down a slight hill on the motorway, reaches 110 easy, 115 easy with no major headwind, 125 pushing it.
    Tended to struggle up big hills a bit being just a single cylinder to try hold high speed.

    The downsides? Thin tyres mean you have to be careful in the wet and when its windy (the stock tyres are crap). Other then that, its a great bike!

    Its all in how you do it. I'll let you in on a secret - this is how I pick my 260kg dry bike up. You lift it. Its not hard....

    fxr if to learn on is good, I think they keep there value better than a kr (someone confirm or deny please)
    Then I could get a Kb Tshirt, move to Timaru and become a full time crossdressing faggot

    I've had my FXR since new going on 4 years.
    It's never given any problems.
    Rides awesome as a commuter machine.
    It returns 37km/l on 91.
    90% of the time spent writing this post was spent thinking of something witty to say. It may have been wasted.

    Not if it runs out of gas...

    The KR150 I'm talking about has wire spoke wheels, an air cooled engine, and a rear drum brake. Not the water cooled one.

    Yes, it's faster
    But it isn't nearly as good a learner.

    Interesting.
    I've never heard of a KR150 that was air cooled.
    Got any pictures?
    Are you sure your not talking about a Suzuki RGV150?

    Red face

    I've been talking out my arse.

    RG150E = water cooled single - fast
    RGV150 = air cooled single - slow (commuter)

    Now this is were I got confused

    KR150 = water cooled single - fast
    KRR150 = water cooled single - fast

    Both KR's are fast. But not as good for a learner. Im sure I saw an air cooled kr somewhere though....
