    Cops out in force today!

My Lady and I left Nelson this morning at 0730 in the cage heading for home in Tauranga, and talk about Cops everywhere! We saw 19 (NINETEEN!)seperate Patrol/Camera Vehicles - all betwen Wellington and Tga! Included were 2 bikes (R1150RT's) on Porirua Motorway working with 4 cars in the same spot - possibly practising trainees from the College, but booking people - a new white Commodore ute with canopy (God Squad) following then pulling over a truckie, then patrol cars in every spot you could think of.

We were VERY happy with the Escort Radar Detector in the Altezza for the day - saved us many times, including Desert Rd! A Rodeo passed us at one point - 120km/hr plus, without a Radar detector - braver then me - sure enough, in Waikanae, he's busted!

A few days earlier travelling thru the Rai Valley in the dark, the Detector went berserk - a sound like a cellphone I hadn't heard before - and sure enough there was the Smokie in the dark with a hand-held LAser, parked next to the 50km/hr sign - in the middle of nowhere, wanker.Talk about revenue collecting - and on a Monday!

Still, 1650 Km round trip, 12 hours home today, including ferry crossing and lunch/gas stops - and NO TICKETS! Nah nah na nah nah

Don't you know? Detectors don't work.
That laser warning always makes me jump.

Did the detector actually save you from a ticket, or were you travelling at a legal speed and the unit simply let you know where the ecilops were hiding?

Saw two cops in marked cars in Levin, then one in a dark green Nissan ute heading north. Spotted the lights on the dash (thankfully not flashing at the time!) a mile off!
Yes, I am pedantic about spelling and grammar so get used to it!

Anyone watch myth busters last night on radar aviodance by putting stuff on your car - end result: nothing worked!
Then I could get a Kb Tshirt, move to Timaru and become a full time crossdressing faggot

Really boring but how about NOT speeding.

Sounds like there's a collective thought of "lucky I did/didn't get pulled over". Really boring but if you speed - you get a ticket. Stay legal and you don't get a ticket. Where's the problem?
If you speed then expect tickets. This is no commentary as to whether your speeding as actually dangerous, just a fact of life. Get used to it.

Its a Escort Passport 8500 X50, and DOES WORK real well. Definitely saved me on at least 2 occaisions yesterday. I am on the road a lot - as a Commercial Traveller and Party Bus Operator ( www.funbus.co.nz ) - and take sensible precautions to protect my licence. You become aware of the hiding spots and popular areas, slow down within 20k's of towns etc - common sense stuff. The Escort is just another tool.
