    YZF piston kits

    anyone own a YZF250? how often do you replace piston and rings how often do you replace rings, any brands of piston you recomend??

    i haven't had a wisco pistion in any of my bikes, but i have been told with that brand, that the bike needs to be warmed up before giving it any stick,(eg kick start and leave idleing for a few minutes) but you should do that anyway or the bike will not last to long between rebuilds, as for how often the rebuild should be done with moden 4strokes MX'ers as in your case the manufactors reconmends very 15-20 hours i think, but should be able to double that as im sure you not riding at the level when thre bike is full open and max rev's all the time.

    Rings are every 40 hours. im not sure about pistons though. Wiseco is a good trusted brand.

    hmmmm what are piston kits ,rings worth??? wiesco, prox ,OEM ect....

    An arm and a leg everytime. i wouldnt know the cost would be better to ring a dealer

    save time and money by taking of the head every10-11 hours and check valve clearance,keep on top of that and you'll go a long way,
