Great writeup. Looks like a great adventure. The Tigger looks just like mine. How did the crash bars handle the little spill?

    Found you!

Only just found this thread, I have been looking in all the wrong places, it seems.

Hey those tracks and places look bloody interesting, too tough for this ol' geezer though!

I am redefining "off road" as 6" either side of the dotted white line, until my back gets better.

Hey why such a wide screen? I have to read it in bloody installments!

Really looking forward to the next installments though. Cheers John.

PS: How are the speakers working out Mark?

    Further upate available on Advrider.com

Not prepared to post a link as apparently funny things happen
when you do. But you can see a further update
    of the trip at
advrider.com look under ride reports pics pics pics
thread called 2 kiwis in Oz.

Today Mark is on his second day of a Simpson Desert
    crossing, from Birdsville to Alice.

He has to be at Alice Springs airport on Wednesday
afternoon, to pick up his daughter.
Here is hoping we will get an update then.

We have posted the report on Advrider, rather than here, because
it is so much easier to put up pics.

Something about emoticons turning into rude images. SlipperyOz amoungst others had his hand smacked on Advrider because innocent images on
one site change as a result of the link to rude images on the other.

Gotta keep an eye on that Oz place, My new employer is based in Melbourne so I've got my sights on a bit of riding over there during visits.

Cutting & pasting text with emoticons or linking to images hosted on this site is what is a problem, inserting hotlinks to & from KB should be fine.

    Cheers

There is some amazing riding starting from Phillip Island. Once you get away from the Freeway and the Princess Highway the traffic is very similar to SI NZ.
    i.e. virtually none.
Great thing about the Auzzies, they are attracted to traffic lights and 4 lane roads.

I'm heading that way again for the MotoGP. MT and I have beds in a house
right next to the Island courtesy of ppl we met on the trip.
We have also been offered Pit passes (at a sharp price) by a person
    met riding.
We heard of other overseas travellers touring the area
but never crossed paths. You could ride the same area of Alpine Victoria
for months and never ride the same routes twice. It is huge.
