not speeding... now there is a new idea?
That'll fuck em...
It was an attempt at humour dumbass. Any post I've made about pigs is focused more on our failing police system at the hands of this government, not the pigs themselves. By being a pissy pants and taking all this personally, you obviously think that the system is working, you're not under-resourced and everything is fine and dandy. If this is correct then you are a bigger dumbass than I thought.Originally Posted by spudchucka

I'm pleased that the shooter tried to cut out the middleman.
Used an M1911A1 apparently.
Speed doesn't kill people.
Stupidity kills people.
Given the mobility the machete-moron had after a .45 cal slug (guessing the 1911 WAS 45) sailed into him maybe now people will see why I'm all for more than one shot from a 9mm, (.357 cal).Originally Posted by Lou Girardin

Yeah, couldn't believe what I read from ya, let alone how I was the only one to pick up on it? The rest of the community didn't give a toss... so often the way things are (also known as the silent majority).Originally Posted by Swoop
Speed does kill tho... sometimes associated with alcohol and dickhead driving, but "Speed kills" is so easy to say, catchy to remember (look how it is always mentioned on here) and costs less for the advertisers to write up.
Saying something like "Speed and alcohol and dickhead driving and failing to stop at red lights and not giving way and crossing over yellow no passing lanes while overtaking approaching blind bends or crests in the road and...blah blah blah... kills" is so much harder to say and much less a catchy phrase to remember. But we digress.... again....
So does this mean you're not a KAHUI clan member of the tight 12?

Well said with the other points as well. A marketing campaign. Perhaps a move to the betterment of kiwi driving standards would show better results. Unpoular with Heilen Klarke and her treasury minister though.

Ixion will back me up here, but yellow lines mean nothing these days, they are like the blanket 80k limits being rolled out as a weak attempt at saving lives. Find me a section of SH2 without yellow lines these days, then they close the passing lanes as well!Originally Posted by Patrick
Exactly, I posted it originally cos I thought it was funny. And would raise a few issues re: self defence.Originally Posted by oldrider

You have no idea what I think about "the system".
My discussion in this thread has been basically limited to correcting Mr Swoops incorrect assumptions regarding police use of firearms.
Reminder just in case you've forgotten: I don't care in the slightest what you think.

So you keep saying and yet your retorts say otherwise. In fact, the only posts you make are in defense of what people generally think of the police in NZ. You very rarely get yourself involved in any other topic or discussion. I would go as far as to say that you find it therapeutic to vent on here about a job that, deep down, troubles you.Originally Posted by spudchucka

The ineffectiveness of the Police caused by a misguided Government is sugar coated and you are made to believe that the agency is effective and that you make a difference.
But it's okay Spud. I understand that it must be a very difficult environment to work in and I am happy that your venting finds you some relief.
As a tax payer (minimal at that) I would suggest that you probably should care what I and many others think. There seems to be a deep seeded arrogance with the NZ public service where they forget what it is we pay them to do.
Now go polish those booties, pull your chin up and make us proud.
Could have summit to do with all the white crosses on the side of the highway on SH2???? You ever counted em? Take a calculator...Originally Posted by sAsLEX
No. it doesn't. The insane yellow lines on SH2 have NO relevance to ANY hazard. They have just painted yellow lines everywhere.
Just why SH2 has such a bad rep I do not know . I have never been able to see anything hazardous on the road, and I have never had any bad experiences on it (and I ride it a lot). I can only assign it to arrant stupidity. But certainly insane yellow line painting on every reachable surface will not improve matters one bit. It is the meaningless thoughtless response of the incompetant to a problem beyond the reach of their minds. "Duh, gee look at all these accidents. Wonder what the problem is ? Duh. Dunno, but lets paint yellow lines EVERYWHERE". In fact the insane yellow lines make the road MORE dangerous.
