Got a warrant with a louder bike

Got a warrant today and the guy at the testing station is a primo bloke.
he gave me the warrant then said lets see how loud it really is.
we put it on his noise thingymajig tester.
my bike TLs with two brothers cans was rated as follows:

AT idle it was 94 decibels
and at half throttle was 113 decibels.

he said thats where they test them at half throttle.

the other guy in there wouldn't have gave me a warrant he said , so am stoked i got the good guy.
he just said go slow past the cops.
while i was there i hung around to see what the cars were doing and a normal car eg: corona etc was about 70 decibels and then some guy in a subaru with what looked like a 44 gallon drum came in and it was 110.

So is this one of the official test centres - or just a testing station with a Db meter?

Sounds like it's time for a ride to the 'Naki. What was the name of the testing station again?

    A TL1000S/TLR that's not loud, is not a true V-twin!!!

oooh, bit of an offtopic (although v-twin does fit into the equation):

was in a driveway on Killarney Rd (Hamilton) on my postbike this morning (Friday), getting ready to get back onto the road from delivering a letter, and a Harley comes up the hill (from the lake), and I do the 'head nod' to him, at which he almost stops what he's doing, and lifts up his left hand and waves haha, I was really impressed.. first time I've seen such generosity from a HD rider.. maybe they're not such a bad bunch after all

..so.. to the HD rider, who is man enough to wave to a rider on a postbike:

    Not sure.
he said they've failed a few cars that have come in with green stickers put on them.
Excuse my ignorance as im not sure what that means but is that what the cops put on a car if they think its not up to warrant standard?
he also tested my bike at a drive by distance and i think he was about 7M away from me and when i went passed at about 50kph it was inbetween 97-98 decibels.
The tester he had wasn't very big.
the cops will have them soon enough i reckon it was just in a case and folded out with tripod legs on it.
    not big at all.
He also said people were getting gauze mesh and putting alot of that over the muffler and putting a hose clip on it which lowered the sound by alot and helped them pass.
then they take it off later.

if he tested it indoors, that is a non-compliant test.. has to be tested outdoors with no reflecting surfaces..

Then it was just a testing station with their own Db meter, they have no authority to fail you on a Db reading - they still have to do a subjective test using their ears alone. They sound like a bunch of opiniated pricks stepping over their brief....

i don't think we have to worry as a 100db will be for us,unless you have modified for a better sound. which i would like to do myself.
