    Awesome Ride Home.

Well the day Started off as normal for me,Get up get motivated...(not hard when it involves the bike) ride to auckland for work which is usually in near freezing temps with the odd icing of my visor due to fog and cool mornings.
Got to work not much happining so was turning out to be a cruisy day untill someone rang up at 2 pm wanting to move a palm tree from Browns bay to Waiuku, .
Get to the site loaded the 6 1/2 tonne Pheonix palm asked where it was going ....suprise # 1 Chris Haldanes Place just out of waiuku surprise # 2 the guys i was moving it for wanted it done Then which as it was 5 45 pm b4 I left due to ...Ahem a slight traction problem, Was going to turn into a late one.
So I get into the Auckland rush hour and head off to waiuku got to Chris`s Place at around 7 30 by the time the palm was in place it was around 8 15pm So after a quick stop off in Waiuku for takeaways ...and to help a couple of young lady`s whose car had firstly broken down and 2ndly locked the keys in another car , which when i tried the right door only took around 5 1/2 seconds to break into( I used to be a Recovery operator),I headed Back to the yard ... the time around 10 pm by the time i was ready to head home.
Now the best time of the day happened, After a fuel stop at mobil wiri i jumped on to the Motorway and started the hour ride home.
Sticking to 100 all the way had a huge advantage for me as suddenly for the first time riding i Hit a groove and had the most awesome ride home not much traffic and no Police men or women that I saw, and for the first time I actually arrived home Not tired from a long day but rather refreshed and revitalised.
It was just ...Well Awesome...so Thanks Chris and I hope you Like your Palm tree

Good wee story Dude, - sometimes you do just "get in the groove" aye?

I found that when I did the 4 Points RAlly the year before last, because I was riding longer days than normal, I git in the Groove later in the day, everything was optimised, rider and bike as one.

I ended up in a Ngatea motel at the end of such a day, leaving Auckland in the morning, headed to Houhora, then back as far as Ngatea - what a neat ride.Thats why I'm doing the rally again this Oct.
