    CB900 Hornet

Speaking of these, I'm looking at one, but with the local dealer here not having one I can ride, how are they for the larger person?? I'm 6'1" and about 120kg.

    Cheers, Jeff.

I say the handle bars can be replaced to give you more room on the Hornet, and the shock would be best to be replaced for your weight. But that would be true on any other bike as well. Not sure if how the peg to seat distance would work. Best to find one to seat on.

A tall(ish) lady of my aquaintance tried a Hornet and thought it cramped her legs. She wound up buying an Africa twin or similar. Suggest you try one first.

Good bike for the price but they lack the lowdown torque that I prefer if you jump on a Bandit which is similarly priced you will find that the way they deliver their power is sweeter

Well..... rode one today and was very disappointed, worst points, very clunky gearbox with a vague feel to it, not as much low down as I thought, very harsh engine that vibrated quite badly through the bars at the normal speeds you want to sit at and the seat is downright uncomfortable, so thats that bike out of the equation. Next :-)

Well, you have pointed out two of its three most common failings.
Vibes in the bars, easily fixed with new ones.
Not the most comfortable seat, again easily fixed with a seat custom made for your butt.
The other failing commented on often is the suspension. Ohlins solves this, but its not a race bike so most are happy with stock.

Clunky box and lack of low down power, never heard of that or had those problems.

You have done the right thing, the only way to know if a bike is right for you is to ride it. Plenty more Honda's out there

Have aftermarket bars that have no vibration even without bar weights. I can reasonably easily ride for a whole tank full of gas without stopping, but then the lower bars have taken some weight off my arse.

I'm just a noob .. but I clocked up 400kms on friday "two up" with little, to no effect to my arse, or my arms, provided I kept the speed around 110-120 to keep the "boddy lift" going.

At 90 I admit, way too much weight on my puny little office worker arms

Yea, in all respects the one I rode had done 20,000km, not new, and I would say they would of been hard kms, but, it's put me off them and it didn't really suit me, felt to small, the CB1300 I rode is starting to look more promising.

PS: Zapf, wierd nick, you wouldn't be the same one that belonged to SDU and have a brother Brenhan?
