Where can I buy a Burette?

No not a gay little French cap, if you don’t know then you can’t help.

To measure head (engine) volume I have been using syringes. They are not perfect & a thin Burette is the way to go apparently.

Seems though all the medical & scientific places have closed up. Even the local pharmacy didn’t have any leads & I haven’t found anything on the web

+ transporting something like that from overseas would be asking for several broken bits of glass to be delivered in an otherwise unharmed packet.

Any ideas? Just tried Biolab but not confident.
Don't you look at my accountant.

Perhaps the syringe would work ok if you used a little soap in the water to break the surface tension? Hope that helps.

I borrow one off my engine reconditioner up the road - I use it for cyl head volumes and pre com chamber volumes.Diesels often have different pre com chamber volumes in the same cyl head depending on if they are turbo'd or not,or just a different spec engine (eg.industrial).They are very accurate and you'll never use a syringe again.See if your local engine shop has one,and ask where they got it.

i seem to remember my chem teacher (head of department) saying the ones we used were $200 and were in accurate peices of shit. (or something to that effect anyway)

i'd try a science? shop... or something similiar i guess... wheres a chemist go to get supplies?

(you could always break into your local school science lab but then that would give young rebellious minds nothing to do for a day and if they have an exam they'll probably be marked as failing - STUPID NCEA...)

These people sell every sort of burette there is.
    https://ecom.merck.co.nz/catalog/Search.jsp

They only seem to sell them in twos though, and they will be expensive.

You can get plastic ones, would would be much cheaper and probably accurate enough.

Ah. yes. here y'go. this is what you want

Thanks for the serious answers guys. Now I'll just have to convince them I'm not some P cook going for ISO9001.
