No, nothing. Furthermore there is no way for the Pig^H^Holice to tell the difference between J.Fuckwit esquire taking exception to you being 5k over the speed limit, and a driveby shooting.

If I was *really* pissed at someone's driving - and that includes any physical contact whatsoever - I'd be in a police station reporting it, taking a name of whoever I had reported it to, then phoning them every second day to see what they've done about it. Nothing will be done, but at least the police will have to admit to doing nothing.

BTW, I've had one of these letters ... regarding my driving (of the cage, obviously) on the motorway at 8:30 on a Sunday morning, with my partner in the car and four year old daughter asleep in the back. Obviously I was going to be driving like a lunatic - hence my comment about J.Fuckwit esquire.

Had a mate who overtook a boy racer on his brand new R1 in town, this little prick then followed him so close that me mate couldn't even see him in his rear view mirror, when he got to an intersection, the clown in the car ran up his arse, $7000 later he just got his bike back!...........

    Cool

Easy....... get their rego number, make and type of vehicle...
also what the driver looked like.. (This is most important information)
Go to the copshop ASAP and spend time filling in forms..... and get them charged with FAILING to STOP at the scene of a accident.

The same thing what happened to you happened to me. The police didnt charge her with road rage but "failure to stop at the scene of a accident" and the lady got taken to court and she pleaded GUILTY.
cost $375 in fines to her.
Then the police sent me a letter with her details should I want to get money back from her for repairs to my bike etc.

You were hit from behind...... the driver took off... that is failing to stop at a accident.

I, too have had some "results" from filling out these traffic complaint forms every now and then. God, it's good to see the letter back from the police letting you know that the fine they've just received has made it all worth it!

I feel conflicted about this. I have to agree with the sensible suggestions above, including the reality that the police can't often do much. I also have to admit to enjoying the rush of justified violence, even with the multiple and unpredictable risks involved. My most recent strategy involves imagining the perpretrator of the stupidity living a futile and frustrated life riddled with repeated karmic paybacks culminating in a lonely death involving a disease that melts their internal organs. Simple things......

I wouldn't bother with the cop thing, been there, done that with not much success due to a shite for brains judge.

Not sure I would bother with the kicking the shit out of the car thing, depends how close he got to killing me. Although I keep saying I must get some of the titatium gloves.

I kinda feel the best thing is to follow them home then brew up their rewards at my own time. Scratching "Don't fuck with motorcyclists" down the car might do the trick.

Had some dick stop me on the motorway at Puhinui road in heavy traffic. He was obviously in a heated state, while waving his fist and pointing. He pulled over cutting me off and forcing me to stop. He rapidly got out of his car and came around towards me. With the appearance of an attack I naturally jumped off my bike to face him. Perhaps because he was presented with a guy dressed in armoured gear and a helmet or perhaps others honking their horns, he changed his mind and climbed back into his car shouting some sort of abuse and drove off while fumbling with a cell phone. I suspect he was dialling *555 to complain about bad bike behaviour. I still don't know what I had done to piss him off so much.. Other cage drivers were waving to me and making thumbs up signs in my support.
If you love it, let it go. If it comes back to you, you've just high-sided!

No, it wasn't an accident. It was done on purpose, and that is attempted murder. Report it as such, not as an accident.

    *555

Only phone *555 if you do not want the driver prosecuted. If you actually want the cops to do something then do as crashe et al says and go to the cop shop and fill in forms, or get on the blower to 111 and say "someone just tried to kill me".

*555's purpose is specifically NOT for having legal action taken against the other driver.
