im thinking about buying a dirtbike but have never owned a 2stroke (so help me god).
Im wanting to check one out at some stage soonish and would appreciate if someone who is in the know could come with and look over it with me.

any help would be much appreciated.

I wish there was someone like that for me when I got mine......

Anyway, talk to the boys at specrum (barrys point road) and they would probably charge you a small ammount to inspect the bike and tell you if it's a lemon.

    What you found?

What kind of bike you looking at?

    Hints,

lift the bike up onto a crate or stand, check for play in all linkages, there is normally a little bit of play in teh rear swingarm up and down only. THere should be no side to side movement.

Check wheel bearings by holding the top of the wheel and moving it side to side quite forcefully, there should be mo movement.

Check the chain for side to side movement. there shuold be a bit of movement but not huge ammounts.

hond onto the front brake and push and pull the bike forwards and backwards. listen for clicking (steering head bearings)

    Huntly where's that?

I thought the sum of all regions in NZ were: North shore, south auckland, west auckland, 90 mile beach, coromandel, taupo, rotorua, and queenstown...???
I have deep pockets. It's just that it's a deep empty pocket...........
