Yes, I have been looking. I also have the BBH Backpacker's Directory which lists most of the backpackers in New Zealand. I check the listings and ratings when I'm home tomorrow.

CB here, well this all sounds great but I don't think the HD will handle this scenic tour. Anyone got a space for the "SOUL MAMA" who could cook up the Jambalaya and creole soup (currently watcking Gordon watshisname). Those passes would count in the top ten most picturesque areas except for the Catlins and man the BIG SKY would be Wundrful.

Seriously, thanks for your help. That backpackers you've suggested looks pretty good. I have emailed them to clarify secure parking availability. (Might have to invest in a disk lock before this trip as a security aid as well.)
Look forward to meeting you - but raincoats will be treated with suspicion!!!

I just came back thru the Lewis and there's no drama there. Will be doing Arthurs and Lewis again next weekend on the Greymouth Run. By the time this ride happens there'll be no snow anywhere.
