Sounds like a good stop on the way back from a ride, or a destination from Tga. If entering Putararu from Tauranga end, where in town is it? Cheers

Cheers for that! Nearly bought a house there many years ago! I'll make note to call in when I'm next passing through.

An alternative route to Sheep Highway 1 from Auckland is to go down through Whatawhata, Kihikihi, Arapuni to Putaruru. Much more interesting road and significantly less traffic/HP

From Hamilton/Cambridge just head down Maungatautari Rd, cross over at Arapuni dam and head for Putaruru.

Why is this in KB Blogs?
To every man upon this earth
    Death cometh sooner or late
And how can a man die better
    Than facing fearful odds
For the ashes of his fathers
And the temples of his Gods
