Nerp, but lets just say there were quite a few visits to the wrong side of the road by multiple people because of charging into corners thinking they're Rossi.

Wow gutted I missed the show.
It would be nice to help others inability to ride to their own ability/speed. But then I may as well just take them pillion. I like riding, its fun.
There is a ride on wednesday for those who need Mentoring.

Its a nice thought and maybe some one could take the lead and take the "second" group

    I didnt see anything

The mega few wouldve shown them how to squid properly!

but saying that, I was getting my knee down and down the odd wheelie...
The ATNR is not a race. Its funny when random people turn up and think it is.

Another funny thing, when you have a 3 dudes on sportsbikes in formation that have slowed down to 100 to go down some particular straights - some very smart people dont think as to why and decide to overtake and barrel down the straights at full whack kinda stupid really.

Happy to get shot down in flames but would prefer some genuine discussion on what I consider to be a good night out that I dont whant spoiled.
    I dont think
NOT shooting flames, but how would you propose to split the group?

Wont the knobs that think they can corner but can't also be the same ones that think they belong in the first group anyway?

I suppose finding candidates prepared to lead and tail end for each group from the masses at the briefing as we currently do, and the 1st group roles out first etc. I'll put my hand up and be happy to lead or tail end the second group........or the first for that matter

Yeah I thought of that too, I guess the answer is you can't but they might feel more comfortable being a quicker rider in the 2nd group rather than the accident waiting to happen in the first.

How about a radical innovation I came across a while back.. we could call the fast riders could challenge each other, go like bats out of hell, but do it together so the know they're not going to come across anyone of a radically different skill level (which obviously puts them ALL at risk).

We could call it a trackday (got a nice ring to it eh?). What do you think?

I reality - the group splits itself anyway if there's someone that wants to go haring off, and I'd be loathe to encourage it any more by formalising it. I've been on plenty of mixed rides (fast, medium and slow riders together) where everyone just filters into their respective spots - and I think it works well.

    Mrs busa pete

Well i would just like to say that i went for an amazing walk today from tindalls bay all the way along to Manly and to the end of stanmore bay beach's althought i had to hit the road back as the tide had come in to much. I didn't have any problems with anyone over taking me dangerously other than the dog. Mind you i got into trouble for that from some old biddy because it was after nine oclock bitch.

    :
Exactly. For the last while we've been doing quite all right. The last thing we need is Ginge getting justification for doing what he's doing. We do not need or want people getting in the shite due to going loopy, so we have to establish ground rules for the ride prior to departure.

Was there a briefing last night? Were the rules established? Ultimately, each has to take responsibility for their actions, but FFS, don't endanger others. that's why we have a bad rep people.

    Yes, I was very clear.
Second person stops and points then races to the front again.
    Whoever point most wins. Simple.
But some cunts cheated and didn't even wait for TEC.

I know its everybodys choice as to how they ride but...... Some of you racer hero types the head down, knee down mono wheeling gods that you are need to be aware that hot on your heals are some young guns or born agains that have the bike capable of sticking with you down the straights but come unstuck when they get to the corner. I'm not for a second saying slow down or take responsibility for others but what I'm suggesting is split the ride into two halves (Dawn Its your call I guess), how about the quick guys/gals go off first and give the ginga a run for his money and the rest take off a minute later. it surely is up to the individuals if they want to follow someone into a corner at a speed they are uncomfortable with.the throttle works both ways.i dont blame the leaders,i blame the followers.
