you got to think of what you want out of the bike as well. The zx6r would be a better all rounder but in saying that I had a 98 cbr600 and after only 6 months had to buy a gixxer cause the cbr was just not cutting the mustard on the open road. So also think about how your skill levl is going to be limited by the bike or not.
Lump lingered last in line for brains,
And the ones she got were sort of rotten and insane...

Cheers ears you're damn right but if only I had a choice aye. Trust me I've been sniffing around TradeMe for a wee while now and that's the best I've come across in months.

Not that I am going to go out now and buy it straight away, but other bikes on there are way to expensive. I don't want to spend 10 to 13 k on a newer 600 2002/3 or above and so I am thinking of older 600 between 97-2001 and these are some of the decent ones.

There were 98 bikes on TradeMe (6R) and done more than 50 000 k's and it sold for about 6.5 g. Grr. I know it could have been well looked after and good body condition but that's a whole new chapter. At the end of the day lower k bikes hold better resale value.

If you want my advice here it is.

Get a K6 600 GSXR, i had one for three years, it was the shizz.

It is a physically big so looks the part, Awsome power, cheap as chips, and there is so many cool parts that dont cost much you can put on.

Dont limit yourself to Trade me, its a great indecator to work out prices, but get in to the shops, you never know what you might find.

as for the person that said the R6 aint so good for open road... i did auckland to manfield leaving auckland at 5pm and arriving in bulls at 1am, had no problems at all except for stopping to piss and i am over 6ft, i do look a bit big on the bike if i dont crouch down.

where opinion holds more weight than fact.

It's better to not pass and know that you could have than to pass and find out that you can't. Wait for the straight.

    That's a neat trick

I had a ZX6R (F3 1997), was an awesome bike, built like a brick shithouse, never needed anything but disposables spent on it. Would buy another no worries at all.
