In that last clip when his wheel touched the ground it went into a tank slapper, can anyone tell me or have any idea why, didnt seem all that bad when the wheel made contact with the road but then quickly turned to shit.

If you watch the vid closely you'll see as he touches the front wheel down he turns the bars to the right a bit, resulting in the front tyre being off centre.

Zed, it puts me off something I wouldve been keen to try on the BM, ie Stoppies - I have done one on it, but that was on the test ride. I didn't push it since - sorta talked myself outta it thinking of possible results!

And Cajun, as Kiwifruit attests, the ST is known to be capable to wheelies, perhaps not this Rider, but certainly the bike, lol

I liked the other vid I saw on there...

    this one
They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the evening,
    we will remember them

I remember seeing a program that had the story on that last one. Apparently the guy was deaf or something (before the accident... not really relevant). But there was a bit of controversy because that car was parked on yellow lines or something... Anyone else see it that can remember the story?

No don't get me wrong, while that led to the accident other factors also played a part, like his weight transfer from moving his leg back, only one foot on the pegs, his high body position etc. I've landed many high speed (tripple digit) wheelies with the front fully crossed up with only one hand on the bars (obviously) and always landed safely. Bigger puff of smoke, slight shake from the bars and that's about it. However I try to avoid them because it does unstablise the bike signifficantly and that is never a good thing.

Geez, there are enough pictures on the internet to put you off bikes, skateboards, cars, microwaves, fat chicks, crossing roads, etc etc etc. I just might stay in bed forever.
Or perhaps tomorrow I will see how much fun I can have in the tunnel again.

Just got back in from concreting my bike into the garden. Lovely conversation piece now. I shiver when I think of how close I might have been to disaster if I'd kept on riding. Thanks for posting that video and bringing me to my senses...I did think about just giving my bike away...but I wouldn't want to hurt anyone.

Beware the speed trap that the feds set up in the Mt Vic tunnell on occasion bro. We must be due for one soon.
