The R1150R was non ABS, hugely strong front brakes, and sure, the back ewasn't a metre in the air - maybe a foot, with empty panniers on, but it did come up. I can't fathom why you would think it would not..................

That first one is from world supersport a couple of seasons back, the bike skimmed over his head, he was ok.....
Tankslappers depend a little on the bike, my gixx is sweet landing crooked, but the ZX12 was a farkin nightmare, it shook so violently if it landed wrong it'd nearly chuck me off....
Yeh, wheelies can go bad, but so can doing up your zipper.....

Sorry got you confused with someone else I think. Guy I was thinking of rides a BMW not an ST and his missus doesn't ride a meanstreak as far as I know....

    For the full length vid

Aparently not one of these riders died, amazing enough.

I can't remember the link for the last vid, but from memory the parked car was an unmarked plod - oops, both driver an rider were hurt but no-one died.

I sure if we had a decent vid camera we could get quite a few local KBer's famous
    It is what it is

I heard as well it was an unmarked cop car, but didn't know for sure so didn't want to add any weight to the rumour. Could've been though.

As 2 have said, that last one is by far the spine tingler of the lot. He must have put the front down off centre? I saw a friend of a friend land a long range wheelie, and as the front wheel spins back up to speed it better be straight! Luckily the guy I saw sorted it out (i.e. 50/50 skill/luck kept him upright)

Nah, I land crossed up wheelies off centre quite often and have never had an 'oh shit' experience. Not saying that it will never happen. Of course they were all performed on a track, so landing the front at over 180km/h is perfect legal out there. You should see the marks they leave on the road, normal landings look like a normal lock-up mark, crossed up and off centre they are eliptical at the point of impact then turn into a straight black mark. I've got the scratch marks on the edge of my front tyre to back this up.

Not a silly question, Yes a damper does help, but doesn't always stop it completely
