    Wellington Riders Beware !!

Lynda Blair advises that there is a HUGE diesel spill in Tinakori Road, at intersection with the lights on the corner of Tinakori Road and Harriet Street (where the old Shamrock Hotel that is now the Indian restaurant is), where you get onto the motorway to head north. The "powers that be" have used water and yard brooms to try to sweep it away (spread it more like!) but they have not used detergent. One of Lynda's workmates almost came a gutser on it a short time ago, just riding upright through it.

    Please take care!!!!

The Wgtn City Council contractor should apply 'mop' (zealite/kitty litter), then once it has soaked in, sweep it up and dispose of it appropriately. Or if hosing to a sump, have a sump truck to suck out the contents before it gets into the harbour.

If you ever see them hosing it to stormwater drains indiscriminantly, ring the Wgtn Regional Council and dob them in. I hate polluters.

There was an diesel spill outside my workplace a few years ago - I noticed when I could hear cars locking up as they came into the intersection.I rung the council and told them - they said it would disapate soon!!! oh,choice,I'll take my chair outside and watch the fun while I have a coffee!

I was wondering what would happen if a bike came through - sure enough a Harley came onto the roundabout and promptly dumped! He got up dusting his arse and looking around wondering what happened,I had an involintary smile over that.Pity he was on a Harley otherwise I woulda raced across to help.

Could have advised him that Council had been informed about the 'hazard' - which places some liability on them for not doing anything about it, especially considering their bullshit response. Some Council workers just don't want to get off their arse. (me excluded of course )

OK so Motu was at work and we wouldn't want an OSH case on our hands.
    Cheers

Oh shit - I didn't think of that, bloody hell, you wouldn't want to go and help someone and get into trouble with OSH.Better to watch somebody go up engulfed in flames than compromise OSH proceedure. Thanks guys,I coulda got into big trouble for being a nice guy for once..
