Classic cover is almost 8hundy cheaper than the quote from the bike shop.
Anyone have any experience of hassles or anything with claims? Should you need to.

yeah, those data dots, waikatoyamaha in the tron are doing them too. A little more than yours Sarge, but makes your theft excess zero iirc

The owner of Classic Cover is a great guy.
He has an interest in all motorsports and has onwed bikes in the past.
He came with us to the 2004 & 2005 MotoGP.

You can try Golightly insurance of Timaru if you want another comparison. They are specialist bike insurers (underwriten by Vero). My full cover is about $500 p.a. Have had one claim and it was approved instantly with no hassle. If anything they wanted to repair too much would you believe!

The speed with that they responded to the quote request was excellent, and with the positive feedback about them I think classic cover will be the way to go when I finally get my bike. Hopefully this year!!

I was with AMI - ran around $1200 per year for the RG500, BMW k100RS and Yamaha RD350LC (3rd party only). I changed through Kiwibike - now $750/year, with the Yamaha now full comp and a higher value, and the RG up in value as well, reflecting market prices. THe BMW excess also dropped slightly. I have limited (5000km year) on the RG and RD - not a problem as they will never get anywhere near that.
The car and house are with AMI still, and AMI have been very good with car claims in the past.

Pardon my ignorance but what are data dots?
I gather they have summint to do with theft prevention?

Classic cover have been awesome. I have had one claim when a bike was run over while parked and a current claim for a solo off. No hassles with either.

easier to do a google search on them, but very simply they are a security system you place on your stuff so if it gets nicked and recovered it can be scaned and returned to you.
