    Mentors & Newbies and WIN

    Hi Guys n Gals.

The Mentor and Newbie partnering programme we set up a year or so ago needs a bit more energy thrown at it, as its a great idea to improve the skills of our newbies, the idea is if you are a newbie and wanting help for anything from riding skills to bike maintenance or even what gas to use you should apply to join the programe.

For Mentors, people who have significant skills and maturity to offer advice about all aspects of biking in a safe and road legal manner (not on how to pull wheelies and get your knee down) if you have these skills you can apply to be a mentor.
I will make no apologies for it but if I think you are a hoon (as good as that is) and not mature enough to take out the inexperienced rider and guide them properly, then sorry I wont be approving your application, sounds rough but the group is for a sensible introduction to biking not the fastest way to getting you killed.

To those that are registered or about to register, find a mentor close to you and send them a PM asking for some assistance.

    Simple really.

to give you a bit of background this was started as a few of us were concerned about the number of crashes KBrs were having, a few unfortunetly were fatal so this is one way you can either improve or if you have the skills one way you can offer something back to the biking world.

As a Sweetener each Mentor and Newbie that matches up and actually does some work together I will send you both a free QUASiMOTO T Shirt, while stocks last.

So get into it people and tell us about it.
Ive run out of fucks to give

applied months ago, got accepted weeks ago.

mabye so info is needed on how your supposed to find a mentor? i think the last thing a newbie is gooing to do is approach some random biker in the street and ask for help.

how about a pairing program? people say they want to be mentors and people say they want mentors, should be easy to do.

I applied months ago, don't know if I qualify now (14 months riding experience).

A dozen beers or a bottle of wine of your choice and a full tank of gas offered to anyone who can help me become better at right hand cornering.

P.S: Note to my fan club: This is a respectable thread, please keep it clean.

How about just making a thread/forum for it. Newbies can post their location/newbie status and mentors can make posts for location/mentor status. May be easier to match up that way.

A dude approched me when I first joined the site. He asked me why i was Q'ing, and taught me how not to. Does that count?

Arrow Allways keep for a free t-shirt.

Whos in the naki and a newbie thats wanting to learn? I have Tue/Wed off each week off now and work in the weekends. If there is anyone wanting help locally, I'm keen.

Edit. just checked that I applied ages ago. Same confirmed. As for wheelies and getting the knee down, I need a mentor for that. So do'n't expect any good advice on those two things.
Those who insist on perfect safety, don't have the balls to live in the real world.

um how do i go about viewing these registered mentors?

i mean dont get me wrong but i reckon ive met half of the welly crew (yes sadly even mr poos) and they've always been keen on offering me advice but having someone who would be willing to help me check my bike for faults would be great! (and i'd be more than willing to return the favour with keeping 'em durn 'puters running)
