Dover can almost do a triple on a sports bike. He's just got to learn to hang on a wee bit longer.

I'm sure we could arrange that WINJA, but we need someone on the camera as well.

Just watched 2005 Enduro at Erzburg. Was quiet funny seeing it now, as some of the Yanks (including Pastrana) were having some fun on a practice ski jump (lands in water) and Pastrana mentions doing triple back flips. All I could do is laugh and think "so that's where he practiced those".

On the event, very cool. There's a torrent of it. Other very cool riders including David Knight (who after seeing his performance at Last Man Standing and this event, would have to be one of the best ever riders. He just makes it look way to easy). Christian Pfieffer, who has won the event 4 times, cements his place as a complete nutter. Where most of the riders are on enduro/mx bikes, light, stripped, and struggling. Christian rides a freakin BMW (looks like a dakar), wasn't impressed with the lack of coverage they gave him, but he didn't finish, something about a seperated shoulder.

If you don't know about this event I'd certainly go do some hunting for some clips. 1300 riders "started" in the event in 2005. It gets whittled down to 500 for the main event on Sunday. From which less than 30 finished.

Yeah I've seen it a couple of times. Pastrana got a really good start but David Knight passed him in the trees. Pastrana DNF'd with a broken waterpump.

I wish they had shown more of the mega bore bikes e.g HP2 and KTM 950.

    An amazing event!

Yeah I know. I just found it hugely amusing that he specifically mentioned "triple back flips", given what he just achieved.

Knight's an incredible rider and did what Pastrana thought he'd (Pastrana) do. Show up for the first time and blow everyone else out of the water. Whatever Knight has he's got it in bucket loads. I hear he won this year too.

Certainly would have been good to see more of Pfieffer. Doing it on an HP2 is just insane. Just goes to show his bike handling skills really are up there.

Would have been interesting to see the HP2 in those two rocky sections.

The DVD is supposed to have much more footage. To be honest the tv version just seemed like a telemercial for the DVD (didn't help that the torrent I got still had all the commercials left in).

Correct me if I'm wrong, but someone else in the world has already done it eh. Just not at the X-games.

People have done it into foam pits but only Travis has landed it on dirt, twice I believe.

They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the evening,
    we will remember them
