    Getting back to the topic...
TS, where exactly was the bike parked?
Seems from what you said that it happened sometime before 2 pm this afternoon. It perturbs me to think that a bike left during the day in a parking building could be vulnerable.
How do you know they tried to steal it? Could it have just been kids fooling around?? (Not that it makes much difference to the end result in this case...)

It was in the bike carpark at down town parking complex (closest too the wharf) and was there for a fair while, i assume that is was being stolen because of the size of the bike, its not like you can "accidentally knock it over" especially with the weight of a kid..... its extremely stable on both the mainstand and side stand..... so thats the only explaination i have, i mite pop into Red Baron tomorrow to inspect the damage....

Im sure the Carpark buildings have Security either walking around OR on push bikes ........ i wonder where they were, i mite also check if there was security camera coverage....

I also worry now alot more about where i park my bike........ is it safe anywhere???? I mean i park my bike in a BIKE CARPARK and it gets knocked over by a 4x4, and dad parks it in a bike carpark and it gets extremely damaged

Well, there's your problem. Find a dedicated Motorcycle Parking Place. I think that there was a list published on the site not so long ago.

Problem is it was DIRECTLY outside Haldanes, with the Motorcycle Sign saying Bike Carpark Only, therefore it IS a Motorcycle Parking Place...... Not my problem, i was in the right therefore its the problem of the guy that owes me $450.....

The cctv surveillance installed in carparks is crap. Only sufficient to detect activity. It will not get rego's or ID persons most of the time.

Don't be too quick to wright them off as useless. I've seen some pretty awful still pictures from surveilance footage succesfully ID offenders. The thing is that local cops generally know who is responsible for stuff like this but can't always prove it. Because they know the arseholes it doesn't take a great picture for a cop to be able to say who the offender is. I've had numerous cases of shoplifting and theft ex-cars where I didn't know the dude in the picture but by passing the image around as many cops as possible someone inevitably will nominate someone as a suspect. Also when an offender is eventually caught and identified there is a chance of linking them back to all the other unsolved offences, which is a lot easier if there is a photo on the file, (even if it is grainy and out of focus).

Have you ever been hit by one? Having done Tae Kwon Do for a number of years and free sparred against male and female partners I can tell you that the only real difference in society is perceptual and oppressive. On the other hand, I wouldn't hit anyone - unless either I, my family, or friends, or an innocent bystander, or a cat, or some classes of inanimate objects, or maybe my lunch, were in danger.

Yep, I've been slaped pretty hard in the face by chix plenty of times. You learn as you go along I guess :confused2

Its just the way I have been brought up and how I formed and opinion on the topic. I just like to treat females as ladies. Even if I came across a bitch from hell out to get me, best I could do is just stop her physically.

Now with boys in the other hand, that's a different story. Haven't been in a real fight since the early years of high school but man that was pretty fun. Nothing beats guys being just guys, Being macho or acting like a tough guy and that kind of crap that we do sometimes. It's stupid but fun while it lasts.

Hows Tae Kwon Do btw? Some of my guy mates do Judo with hot chix. They end up getting slaped across the face by the end of it. Why? Well, its a contact sport and its a bit like playing twister where the opponents various "bodyparts" come in contact with your own various "body parts". Then the guys bodies naturally react to the situation and the chix end up being very upset!
