that's kinda a good thing.. the only real time you should tension your upper body (arms) is in a stoppie.. the rest of the time, the handlebars will take care of themselves..

    BTW Mark,

When a truck toots at you on the Victoria Park Flyover, the common thing is to wave back, not pull the fingers! Did you think I was an irrate driver trying to tell you off? If only you looked in your mirrors eh? Show some RESPECT man........

Err not. You should be carrying most of your body weight by gripping the tank with your knees.

for stoppies? yeah, although, according to an article i read, you should stiffen your arms, and yes, gripping the tank with your knees is very important too

    Basic Stoppie
Body position--specifically, keeping your body centered over the bike--is probably the most important aspect of pulling off a safe stoppie. You must first get your body dead-center over the middle of the bike with your head straight, shoulders squared and arms stiff. Having your body off-center is what's going to cause the back end to kick out once you get the back wheel up.

I found that made my shoulders a pivot point for my body weight. You want the combined mass to rotate around the front axle, not the front axle and the grips.

But then I am a fat bastard.
