Yeah - I said to the cop - I have been soooo good all weekend - I hadn't gone much over 100kph for a lap around Auckland - Lake Taupo. Picture of restraint.

Just the co-pilot squeals with glee every time we hit the old ton.
I though ahh fuck it - I haven't seen another car for 10 minutes - a quick squirt won't hurt. Wasn't being stupid or wreckless IMO - just wicking up a bit.

But I copped it sweet, really. Asked if I could be let off with a caution, but she indicated the my speed prior to her getting 'a lock' really precluded that option. I could but smile and hold my hand out.

Unfortunately it's the demerits and the potential of not being able to ride that really stings.

Ahhhh - I got no real complaints, understood the risk - like I said - could have been a lot worse.

I think we just have to face it that if we want to keep riding then we have to slow down a bit. I'm half way through writing a new feature on the merits of naked bikes.
That why I love scooters, I have never been so scared as when I hit the ton on a friends 1962 lambretta. it seemed faster than 270 something on a k6 thou.
