Working on your own suspension? DIY??

My shocks are working well, but I though I really should change the oil (never done it) and change the seals out (they aren't leaking)

Is it a mission? I don't think that i'd bother with the rear shock, but the fronts shoudl be fairly straight forward???

What year Suzuki Cheese? Fork oil should be replaced every 30-50 hours, more often if you ride hard or in mud, less often if you just play ride. The shock should also be serviced at about 50 hours use, cleaned out, new oil and new nitrogen. If your bike has not had these done at a regualar interval its a good idea to replace the seals and check the bushes, they may need replacing. This is also a good time to service the linkage. Its very important that everything goes back togeather clean of dirt and/or debris. Your bike will feel alot better with serviced suspension.
A competant mechanic can service the forks providing they have the correct tools and know what they are doing.

mine is a 96, so I think I better get it done instead of me fucking it up. There is a new guy working for total motox adn he was very helpfull. I'm going to do a massive stripdown/rebuild in a few months when I send my Barrel over to get replated. Going to paint my frame and all. I've had all the linkages bearings replaced and I striped it down last week adn greased them all too.

What is the factory paint like? can you get it in a can? Or should I get it powder coated?

No way I don't think you're spamming me!

Do you want to give me a price on doing all my suspension. I'd pull it all out for you.

    Cheers!!

I'll get back to you with an estimate and a possible parts breakdown. Being a ten year old bike you are more than likely going to need bushings and seals front and rear.

I don't fix radiators. I used to use Barry Senn who unfortuanatly died earlier this year while riding his MX bike.

Thats strange. My KTM comes with a powder coated frame from the factory. It has worn down by the footpegs but it took a long time. Have not seen any flaking. Faulty application I would suspect on your flaking frame.
