    Arrow The secret's out!

Just got home to find this months copy of BIKE magazine (the No.1 Bike mag in europe - 100,000+ sold a month) in the postbox, a highlight of my month (its mailed direct from the UK so is up to date, not 3 months out of sync).

However this month it carries a SEVEN page editoral about riding the south island, its a great piece and would make you want to hop on your bike right now and ride Athurs pass et al. In fact its TOO good an article - he even gets pulled over by a cop at 230kph in an overtaking move and gets let off with a $600 fine!!!!! (thats nelson for ya).

So expect alot more euro bikers on the roads come summer - the article even tells people how to get here by flying to christchurch from heathrow, by-passing the chance of being creamed by an oriental driver in auckland! outrageous I tells ya, as if it weren't enough with all these other blow ins...ahem....

Its the september issue and will be in news stands here by christmas!! if anyone is interested

230kph? Didnt they say on the news a while back that the biggest speeder was 180kph? It got all over the news etc?
Then I could get a Kb Tshirt, move to Timaru and become a full time crossdressing faggot

no that was one of the biggest on a speed camera, I think the biggest on a speed camera was 213km/h or something most people doing 230km/h would have a) been going to fast for a cop to catch and b) not stopped
probably a typo and he got caught at 130 or something?

I'd rather have tourists coming here to ride bikes than putter along at 70kph everywhere is those Britz campervans.
In the end how many UK bike riders could afford the trip to NZ and still have coin leftover to hire a bike? There's plenty of room in the SI for more bikes.

I have an international subscription, that my missus got me for christmas - bless her. All those bike mags will have a page in them detailing subs, its alot to shell out in one go but is no more expensive then the monthly trex down to boarders or where ever.

As for the comment about the typo of being done at 230K...NO typo he passed an unmarked falcon at 130K over the speed limit, was escorted into Nelson by same cop, got a lawyer, went to court - as a non NZ resisident he could have been fined up $6000 and deported - but he got a biker judge, got fined $600 and baned from riding in NZ for 6 months....Go figure, thems the facts as they are laid out in the article!

Yep, that sounds right. Couple of years ago I was in a line of bikes coming out of the Buller gorge and the front bike was nabbed at 172kph. He had an Aussie licence on him. So Mr Plod said I can't seize a foreign licence and there's no point calling you to court (since he would be back in Oz in a week). So he got an instant fine and was suspended from driving in NZ for 28 days. Mr Plod did alert the other regions to check for our group coming through to catch us out. And we were stopped. They had a LIST of suspended riders from that weekend! Makes you want to go to oz and apply for a drivers licence for those special ocassions .

Interested in your comment about the biker judge in the Nelson District. Some friends of a mate had a similar case where the judge threw a speeding case on a technicality and happened to mention later that he rode a Ducati. There can't be too many biker judges around in that area!

No surprise to me............you've got to pass the 'Bloody Decent Bloke' exam before you're even allowed to own a Duke.

Let's hope I don't need him next March. There are 4 of us on Blackbirds (all KB members) spending a fortnight in the south island. All the same colour so they should look nice in photos with a spectacular backdrop with Scumdog's patrol car all lit up in the background

Escorted to court? Arrested for dangerous more likely.
I can't see your average mobile taxman acting as a taxi for miscreants.
