Now doesnt that just rip ya nightie.weekend of crap weather and first day back its outstanding :spudwhat: .
I squeezed a awesome ride in yesterday and found (for me) the best damn bike road in the world, fuck its good, Old Taupo road, any one know it. I went down through Wharepapa, mangakino, Whakamaru, then up towards tokoroa then turned onto Old Taupo, the hook in by Pukeatua back to Kihikihi up to Hammy, great ride,m Im still fizzing.
I know by about 1pm Im going to stop work and go for a ride probably back to Taupo rd.
Any one else ride in the weekend??
Ive run out of fucks to give

I went for a short ride on monday. Went part way out to Piha, then turned back and went along scenic drive to the lookout at Pukematekeo.
But jeeze, my riding was crap - making silly mistakes changing gears, not being able to decide how to keep my feet etc. I think I must've been tired from two late nights the last two nights and not being any good at sleeping in.
Oh well, it was still good to get out there.

We've got biker friends from Auckland and Hamilton staying a couple of days, so yesterday I rode up to Waiouru to meet them and ride back.

Lots of snow on the big hill near Waiouru and I reckon it was still snowing on the Ruahines on my way north (brrrrrrrr). Nice day for a ride -- no wind. It was cold out of the sun, but that's where the Icebreaker earns its keep!

Tailback from the Otaki roundabout stretched to Tatum Park, but that's only a cager problem!!

Joe Law was out in force but the traffic was generally well behaved.

Now I'm back at work and Mrs H gets to show our guests round Wellington. Nice day for it too.

He'll be half-way down SH22 by the time you read this...

Yesterday afternoon after a frustrating two days of non-riding weather I decided to risk it and headed off towards 22 on my own, but didn't get very far as I could see black clouds ahead, so just hooned around Karaka, Kingseat etc for a while then headed home. For a QB there were surprisingly few bikes on the road. As it happened the rain that eventuated wasn't all that much. Now as I sit here in the office I see brilliant sunshine and blue skies.

I tried riding on Sunday but only got as far a Orewa and turned back. Too wet and too windy to be arsed!!

Rode out to my brothers place in Papakura on Monday to help pull down a fence - The weather was much better.

Jimbo750, Marknz, Cycosis, Neil and I did a trip round the block - Paekakariki Hill to Levin, backroads to Pahiatua Track to Ekkie, Masterton and Rimutaka's. Only saw two cops, one at Ekkie and one at bottom of Taka's (West side).

It was pretty cold everywhere, windy over Wairarapa but otherwise a great ride. Highlights would be Pahiatua Track which I hadn't been over on a bike before and thrashing back up the East side of Taka's.

Did a nice little ride to Taupo, Friday night - wasn't too bad - only had to follow the taillights to see where the road was for about 100k!
Rode back Saturday night - the best bit was Cambridge - Gordonton no cars, no rain no grief! Then it was back to usual shit, with wind thrown in for good measure!

Well we (Ms Lemans) when for a good long ride (4.5 hours)on the trail bike's.
It tryed to rain once and had a cold wind.
But in the trees the wind was not a problem.
And as you may know, trail riding does keep you warm and we dressed warm.
Sal crashed and I tryed to flip doing wheelies, but saved it, just.
It's been years since I did a good long wheelie, need to practice more.
Feel the fear and do it anyway

Yeah it's a goodie - part of my route from Auckland to taupo without going on the main highways. I would have to find the map to get the rest of it, but it is pretty cop (but not tractor) free, and damn few straights.
