Power wheelie? I smell a squid. You need a GSX-R.

GT650 is basicly just a faired SV650 with not as good suspension - i think.
Well personally I would grab a big ass 20 foot pole and keep that between you and any hyosung.. but my opinion is biasif you do get one just be aware that the finish on them is bollocks and they are steel frame (ie.. they rust after 3 weeks) on the other hand they look nice :S
fuck, wait til swampy read this thread.
I hear they're gonna give him a korean passport soon and have a celebratory dog roast in his honour.
And a little more power according to Kiwi Rider.Originally Posted by Batcerb

Now, now children.
You either like the bike or you don't, I don't need to justify the brand, most of you know that on a twisty piece of road I can keep up reasonably well, but the straight pieces of road where top end is needed - that is another story.
If you have got nothing to share from experience, then don't say anything at all. Hear say is worth donkey shit.

As a bike after a hi-po 250, a CBR600RR wouldn't be bad. It's the only one I've ridden out of your list. Great smooth as silk engine, awesome brakes, magic gearbox. They look the shit too, especially in black.
But, if you take my advice, which is pretty crap and meaningless, try and do a stint on the middle ground. Find a 400cc inline four in good nick (If you want a trick Honda RVF400, I might be able to help you out) or a 650 twin. You don't have to ride it for ages, just a while on the 'next level' will make that step to a bigger (600cc+ inline four or larger twin) less of a paradigm shift. No offence intended, but the difference between an old and busted 250 and a modern 600+ is like night and day and requires many kms of brain rewireing.
A well ridden 400 can keep up with (And issue the smack down to) a 600 basically anywhere except the straight bits, if that is what you care about.
If the Hyosung 650 is anything like their 250, it is a pile of crap. In a few years, they will be much better, but for for now, perhaps avoid. Having said that, they don't look half bad and the brakes on the 250 were pretty good.
newbie since August 2004....
VTR250 (retired) / SV650S (Fw:Keystone19) / GSXR750(given up) / CB400(traded for 919) / CB900 Hornet / CBR954 (traded) / CBR1100XX (sold) / TuonoR (sold) / CB900 Hornet / NC700X / MTS1200 / XR250
It's a pity the Hyosung get such a bad hammering, because the 650 really is a nice looking bike. I guess any new player in the market is going to have some issues to iron out.
