    New bike or not ????

    hello people

well the time has come to think about a upgrade currently i have a 1999 virago 250 which i have loved riding and getting my full licence ( well due in august ) , i have been offerend a 1992 400 virago with only 11K on the clock i know its a import and shaft drive

a quick look over it looks to be a tidy bike

should i go for it or wait for a nice 1100 virago to come up for sale or would this be a too big of step with only 12 month riding time ?

what points should i look at ie weak points etc

can any one value the 250 1999 8k red photos to follow

at this stage i will be replacing the bike pack system back to the std one and using it with what ever bike i end up with

If its a good deal and you like the 400 enough then go for it...
The 1100 would be a big step from the 250 sure, but just requires more respect. Wouldnt be "harder" to ride, but easier to get into trouble.

    Cool

Oscar - If you do upgrade, then I really suggest you go to the 400 first... then later on go to a 1100.
That is my personal opinion re your riding experience.

BTW if you take the packrack off the 250 I doubt that the "L" bits that fit onto the 250cc bike will fit the 400 let alone the 1100 as each bike is different.
The top part will fit any "L" brackets.

So if and when you upgrade, I am after the "L" brackets for my bike.
I already have the other top bit lying around in my garage.

    Cool

I have seen the bike and it is in excellent condition...

I would have thought about $4,000

But I guess its the age of it makes its value lower??????????

Go the 400, good choice to increase gradually. 1100 can come later, no hurry. I would say about $3000 should be max.

$3500-$4000 for the 250. As for what to get next the 1100 isn't exactly a 100+hp sportsbike so I wouldnt be to scared of getting one and if you went for the 400 you would only lose money if you traded up again in the next few months.
