Performance tuners (road)

Hello peeps,
Just a quick enquiry if anyone can recomend any good four stroke tuners (road bikes) in the waikato or maybe a bit further a field.
Looking for maybe blue printing, Big bore and some other work maybe even Nos.
Any ideas would be cool I'm not having much luck searcing the net.

Not much point blueprinting.....gives bugger all power increase but if done right will give you a solid motor. It involves someone buying lots of parts and comparing them all and choosing the best to give the closest tolerances.
Extremely expensive and not worth it.
Your better getting some headwork, upping compression, hot cams etc.
Sorry not sure of any tuners local?

a guy on this website called sugilite has a zx9r race bike forsale....170rearwheel horsepower....with muzzy big bore kit etc already on it...and just about a whole spare engine....and he wan't $6.900 for it.... look him up....be cheaper than building a enigne from scratch....and your getting lots of extras!! [ohlins suspension.light weight wheels,HD clutch....etc...]

Blue printing is very important if you want the best, over 20% of the motors best is lost due to friction, to blue print, you do not need any other parts, just check the weight of each part ie con rods, pistons etc and make all the same weight!

Fit loose bearings, diamond lap rings etc and the head and comp work as per above post and hey presto.

But as Cowpoos said, that bike he mentions is a bloody fantastic price for what you get with it.

Yeah Shaun, but for the average motor on the road where obviously race rules don't come into it, then other work will give bigger benefits.
As for the blueprinting itself I think it falls under many differing meanings, a lot of the time its used too loosely.

From Wikipedia:

Blueprinting

Blueprinting is the remachining of components to tighter tolerances to achieve better balance.

Ideally, blueprinting is performed on components removed from the production line before normal balancing and finishing. If finished components are blueprinted, there is the risk that the further removal of material will weaken the component. However, lightening components is generally an advantage in itself provided balance and adequate strength are both maintained, and more precise machining will in general strengthen a part by removing stress points, so in many cases performance tuners are able to work with finished components.

Is blueprinting not just ensuring that the motor matches the "blueprint" or plan, ie making everything to the designed toloerances rather than the mass produced components that readily come with modern bikes?

Yes - so it's not such an issue these days where manufacturing tolences are so close.But in '50's and '60's engines could differ wildly betwwen tolerances blueprinting needed a lot of work.These days I bet the con rods would be damn close,just needing a lick with a file - back then you'd have to go through 20 or 30 rods just to find a couple to work with.You could blueprint a modern engine easy with just some small balancing issues,combustion chamber volumes,valve heights etc.
