Ever sat a 5.56mm round beside a .50BMG? I think you're getting what you pay for, there

I think it must've been. He/it was back there this morning, and didn't seem to be moving. Mebbe if he wasn't a mannequin, he was just mesmerised by his laserbeam thingo. In any case, it caused some mayhem this morning. People were actually slowing to a stop :spudwhat: as they came up to him, and there were cars everywhere.
He was looking the wrong way though. After I'd passed him, I filtered to the front at the lights, pulled a nice wheelie through the intersection, and made up for running late.... I'm really sorry, and I feel very bad about it, but I just couldn't help it.
The were cops everywhere this morning! Next set of lights, there was a cop on foot with a notebook/ ticketbook. Saw him talk to some flaming noonahs that were blocking the intersection. Funny thing is, people are definitely driving far WORSE with the cops around. It's like they're using only a couple of braincells anyway, and when they see something out of the ordinary, they go into panic mode and switch off completely! Both cars in front of me stopped WAY over the line when they saw the cop, then the lights went red, and they're stuck there. They had room to back up, but didn't. I guess if he wasn't there, they would've just gone on red, so it ferked them up having to try to obey the signals.
Less than 100m down the road, another HP car. Then the usual one by the bridge.
Good to see them all out and about. I guess when they went back for tea they said, "Yeah, a good haul this morning, but we still didn't get that idiot on the red bike!"
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

You know how D'Auckland drivers react to anything out of the ordinary - just freak out completely, slow to a crawl, meander all over the road, crash into each other...
I saw that wank... sorry, fine upstanding member of our thin blue line.
Didn't see the laser though, he must have been writing up his latest 'kill'
He didn't see my little wheelie away from the lights either.

    Blah Speeding ticket excuse

    Ha ha...

Heard on the radio quite a funny excuse given by a guy caught doing 130 in an 80km area:

His visor kept fogging up so he had to speed up to get past the other vehicles on the road in case he crashed into them because he couldn't see properly.

    Surprisingly it didn't work.

Neither did the one of "I had just got some fish'n'chips and put them down the front of my jacket and it steamed up my visor so I couldn't see my speedo and that's why I was doing 93km in a 50km area"

Doesn't quite fit in with the Law Abiding Biker image - worries about lasers, wheelies.....

    No.
I know this was addressed to Lou, but .... my bad too.
I try to be good, honest I do. It's... it's... it must be my bike.
I think it's possessed, because no matter how careful and composed I am, every trip sort of degenerates into hooning.
Like yesterday. I managed about 2km, and then once the front wheel popped off the deck, mayhem ensued. :sly:
And the bloody thing tried the same thing again today, in the very same spot!
Luckily, this time the road was wet, so instead of monowheeling across the intersection, its nefarious plans were thwarted, and it just spun up the tyre. And unlike a previous time, there was no transition from wheelspin into wheelie, as I chastised it, slapped it across the nose, and told it to settle down.
It seemed to work, because apart from a few minor speed limit transgressions, and travelling for half a block with the left blinker on, there were no more shenanigans.

It's a hard road finding the perfect bike, mate, or even just a good'un. The last bike was lazy, and kept wanting to lay down in the middle of the road for a rest. This one is just plain naughty, and needs a damn good thrashing.
    ... and that's what I think.
