    Dont Trust Any Bastard

And here I thought it was just the cage's you had to look out for ...

Let me set the scene for you ..

North Western Motorway, this morning ... i'm tooling along as you do and get passed by a street and a trail, playing tag in traffic .. now thats not a problem .. traffic is moving fine and i'm happy to sit in a lane ...

Fast forward 5 mins or so and traffic is grinding to a halt .. looks like it's time to split .. so there i am .. splitting along at 50 or so .. not a care in the world .. when i see the tag boys up ahead .. the street is in my split lane and the trail is in the far left .. he getting a little pissed as that lane is really grinding (coming up to the point chev offramp) .. so he decides hes going to change lanes.

    Sweet ...

I'm watching him .. i see him change .. he goes across two lanes of traffic .. right towards me .. and i'm thinking .. hes going to look .. hes going to see me .. for fucks sake my bikes bright yellow .. he cant miss me .. holy shit!!! .. stomp on the brakes as he drops in on top of me ... my front wheel is all of 30cm from his rear wheel... and i'm thinking what the fuck was that!! ...

so i'm looking in his rear view ... just waiting for him to finally look.. see his eyes move to the mirror and go wide .. i give him a nod and he gives me a little wave ..

Fucker could have killed us both!

This rant has been bought to you by the letter H ... for head check!!! ... god damnit!! .. and if that was you this morning ... i was tempted to kick you off that bike boy ... next time look ... i dont care if you want to be an idiot in traffic ... just don't take me with you ...

I'd never think that! Some of the craziest bastards I've seen are on two wheels.

Agreed. Most cagers are both crazy and ignorant to other road users.

Isn't it funny how when a cager cuts you off, and you pull up to their window and make aggresive gestures, that they wont even look at you! Oh yeah, eyes on the road now you bastard!

    This is what causes bins!!!

    • You saw him coming but didn't figure that he'd get in your lane so you did nothing about it.
    • You knew he hadn't seen you but you'd made the assumption that he would, so you did nothing about it.
Don't mean to sound like an arse but it's this kind of attitude that will see you sliding along the road.

And a fair call too!! ... i'll not make that mistake again ... just sort of assumed that because he was on a bike he was more aware ... had no idea that fuck wits rode bikes ... just thought they drove cages ... rest assured ... next time it happens i'll either give him room .. or kick him off his bike into traffic. ... just wanted to post to let the bikers know .. that you have to look out for bikes as well as the cage's

Glad no one became road jam. Other biker prob got a fright and will look in future - at least he waved an apology - let's hope everyones life gets extended due to this thread.

The term is survivor riding I believe. I simply dont trust any other road user and bikes can be more dangerous as they can often change positions in lanes so much quicker than any other MV. If you see an idiot, keep well away and they aren't always in cars sadly. I make sure I keep well away from other traffic and it allows me plenty of time to deal with any situation. Glad you didn't bin though I suspect the other rider would have got a serious lesson too. Wonder how the cops would view such a crash? You rear ending the other rider, or him side swiping you?
Then came the day when cages were confined to zoos.. and the bipedals ruled the earth again.. Tu@ advt # 666 Return of the beasties
