It's actually quite a capable road bike. Lean angle is its only shortcoming - but 'tis a road bike to me. Handles steers brakes and accelerates with the best of them.

Dave's right. My guess for second would be the Yamaha MT-01 @ 150. Definitely still on my "If I could collect motorbikes, I would own" list.

Not so I'm afraid. Behold the attached scan of the dyno curves for ALL of the 1000's- CBR, R1, GSX-R, ZX-10R, MV F4S, 999 and RSV-R. With the exception of the 999, all of the bikes were tested on the same dyno. Note the light blue torque curve of the RSV-R popping its head up above the rest until 3000rpm, when it is upstaged by the CBR, the F4 takes over for a bit before the 999 pops up for all of about 100 revs before the GSXR shits all over all of them all the way from 4000 till just under 6000. The fours battle it out till their respective redlines, while the twins never get a look in.

Why? Buggered if I know! Maybe because there is more R&D money being poured into 4's at the moment??

Sure does! I still can't help thinking that Yamaha have gone in the wrong direction with engine development.

One thing I forgot to mention- fours also get to take advantage of the lower gearing their higher reving engines allow for.

Where do the V4s sit? Like the VFR and such.

Is it just me or is someone getting a little too excited over that chart? Looks like a pube to me...

It is not only about torque...... Crankshaft/Flywheel weight will have a major effect to...stored energy or something.
