I tried them at one stage when I was a keen, rather than good, runner and I needed all the help I could get. Absolutely no help whatsoever. As a non-snorer ( yeah right) I can't see they would be of much benefit as the snoring is all the flappy bits in the back of your throat vibrating apparently. If I was a snorer I would use Snore-Away, its a spray that you spray in your mouth. Oh fuck it - my name's Peter and I'm a snorer and she who must be obeyed especially at night reckons it works

That's OK though, because if that person has a partner, you just extended their life by 5 years.

Hamish uses "Snor Stop" or similar name, from the chemist. Must be the same sort of thing as the Vicks one. Generally it works well, sometimes he still snores but far far less with the spray. He's given up on the stick-on nose thingys. This stuff you spray in your mouth, not up your nose.

I'll check out the Vicks option in case it's cheaper/better than the other stuff.

I used to use Snorenz, which sometimes worked, and sometimes didn't. Tasted OK, and gave me minty-fresh breath tho'.

But my main problem seems to be switching over to mouth breathing when my nose gets bunged up in the damp, when I'm asleep. Which can apparently get quite loud.

The vicks works a treat, and seems to keep my nose unblocked all night, so I don't switch to mouth breathing. Problem solved, everyone gets a decent nights sleep, and matrimonial harmony is restored.
