Scuff tape from, you know the protective clear adhesive film.

I know where to buy the normal stuff which is fairly thick but I don't want that stuff as it looks hideous. Does anyone know where to get some quite thin stuff from???

Yeah there is a place locally Josh, in Mauakau rd Puke, I got my last R6 done there, can,t rember the name of it atm, will take dog for a walk later suss it out and txt you.
