It didnt dent my pride, just one of those things that was unforseeable. But it would have been strange to see a rider to just slowly fall over like that. Shit I would have laughed if I saw it!

I have knee inserts in my draggins which I always have in, and hip inserts if I feel the motivation.

Most bike shops seem to have draggins, they are good kit.

I rode to the testing station to get new warrant n rego
    Nothing spectacular.
Still to get bike checked over after wee off. She has been all lonely in the garage nxt to the dirty old jag (which I tried to convince dad to get rid of earlier n get a bike instead... didn't work) as haven't had the time to get out lately.
But a ride none the less short but sweet. (oh n gave her a clean n made her look all shiny n pretty too, yay!)

short ride after Father's day lunch. Starting from Clevedon with a group of 4. Fast ride out to Kauia and home via Hunia. Stopped at Clevedon for while talking and comparing bikes. Lots of bikes out today due to the good weather.

Then one last ride over the Momument & Skyhigh road and back again to get home to Botany.

First ride in 4 weeks since getting the tyres. Now fully scrubbed with no chicken strips. Although not as impressive as Leong's ragged edges

Got up 7:30am Out to Clevedon and back a couple of times (kids are sick - don't want to be too far away if wifey needs assistance) then back to a car park to practice cornering/countersteering and see if I could reduce chicken strips to nil...reduced to about 0.5mm - call it a chicken pin-stripe.

Sunday morning...had to work would you believe it. About lunchtime got the opportunity to nick off and enjoy some of that warm sun. Checked out my kid brother's place but he was long gone.
Headed out through the back roads of Taupaki through to Kumeu then off out past Helensville. was intending to just stop at the Kaipara lookout for a bit then back to work. But i didn't.
There was hardly any traffic and that sunshine was beckoning me so just kept going north then turned right across country along a really winding road that ened up on SH1 at Warkworth. Well that was the end of the open road, with Heavy traffic all the way back to Auck, over the bridge then up the N.western back into WestAuckland.
It was only about 180km but I was back in time for smoko and feeling like I'd actually done something usefull in the weekend afterall.

I went very close to home, and rode the road that goes up from Grafton gully to the domain a half dozen times. It's a wicked little bit of road, and about the only twisties in central auckland.

Mount Eden's also good like that, although a tour bus usually kills it for me....

Worked Sunday, rang in this morning and got the day off, dropped down to Kawhia then back home via the back roads around Glen Murray...
    Another 400+k's on the clock!
Not bad, nudging 4000ks and I’ve had it for about a month or so!
Would like to get out on it more but working weekend’s cuts into your time somewhat.
Got the New Zealand Motorcycle Atlas to help with new routs and rides, worth getting, the only thing I'd add to it is a few blank pages to scribble notes on to help with the lesser known side roads you find on your travels.
Odd, would have liked company today...
Not something I usually crave on my excursions.

Yeah I know. I've only had the bike for 2 weeks, and I haven't had a sunday where I haven't had a shitload of stuff to catch up on for uni. Got holidays in a week, and might join my mate for a blast down to taupo.

Well I rode from just out of Waiuru to Rotorua with a bunch of SCMC. Boring old SH1 all the way to Taupo where we stopped for a huge brunch...bacon & eggs & tomatos and hashbrowns with toast
Split up with the group then took the main road as far as Ohaaki rd down to Broadlands rd. Back onto the main rd then off through Waikite Valley to avoid the roadworks & revenue gatherers that frequent that road. Was a great wee ride to top off a most excellent weekend!

Got Mrs onto the noo scooter ( had it a month now after a long break !) for the first time, pre children we ran up lotsa kms on bikes but it's been 15 odd years away from them, starts with a panic attack 1.8 m out of the drive way ( yehaaa spent fkn $$$ on the flash jacket gloves etc) a coupla false starts and off north on the m/way....destination Warkworth for lunch, started off nice and slow, pushed up to 110/120 ( honeslty officer) and err a little more, got to Warkworth, was tapped on the shoulder and told, Lets go to Wellsford, and back through Helensville, done as planned until we get to Kumeu, bike starts wobbling like a jelly, look, see nothing, gets worse with noise .what is that metal pking out of the left side of the wheel, looks like a bearing cage...eeeee rear wheel bearing is toast, limp home, some retard had left spacers out off the back end, new bearings, machine up the missing bit blah blah......( just had a quick spin to Pukekohe & back for the test drive)

Best is that Mrs Mc F is now keen to journey more often and further afield.

    A great day
