This is the reason Chris & I don't ride in groups anymore.

There was always some moron who ruined it by pushing
limits forgeting about the other riders.

It always resulted in a crash or a "ohhh that was close" situation.

Nothing wrong with either group rides or newbies on the rides as long as proper briefing completed before the ride and just a wennie bit of policing on the way.

You just need to find a group that rides the way you do. I really enjoy group rides, and a modicum of discussion on your first ride can set the tone for years of fun with like-minded people.
If a man is alone in the woods and there isn't a woke Hollywood around to call him racist, is he still white?

Absolutely. I ride with a couple of groups that people like White Trash and Cold Kiwi would describe as grannies. I don;t care though because the social elements more than make up for it, plus (touch wood) we tend to all ride home at the end of a day out.

Sounds like an ad for a swinger party!

I guess Ive been riding with the same group of guys for so long Ive forgotten all the pre ride talking that is normally needed.
We do both kinds of riding normally. The controlled no passing, look out for the guy behind type of riding and the fang in the country type of riding.
i guess the difference is though that we all ride withing our -and our bikes capabilities.
We tend to do our fast riding in shortish bursts on sections of windy road we know well When we get to an intersection the front rider stops and waits for the other guys to ride past then joins on the end of the line

Hmmm as much as I hate to come across as either a ghoul or a complete idiot ... I followed the link above but am unable to see any pic's. I tried to again registerign with the site first - but still no luck.

Without getting too personal - is this a problem with my PC or the driver (me!)

No, I didn't see any either. This often happens on forum sites where someone chooses to link to a photo on an external site, rather than attach a photo to their post.

The pics have probably been taken off the original site, hence your just seeing either a blank link icon, or nothing at all.

And you're not a ghoul. The ghouls hang out on www.ogrish.com
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

have to agree here i ride with heaps of differnet groups all different levels. the same rule applies for all group rides if your up front then wait up the road. were all responsible for our own safety. If you cant control yourself then yes riding on your own for a while might be the answer. Riding in a group i reckon is way better because it throws the social aspect into the game as well. Plus less experienced riders can watch mor experienced and learn lines and things like that. if you cant keep up dont try well wait for you anyway. If everyone has fun and comes home at the end i cant see a problem.
